Need advice on 35 Sidewall Tires for the 2SS 1LE.
Just picked up a shinny new 2018 2SS 1LE and have a tire question. Which brands with a 35 sidewall have been used with success with little to no rubbing, or are all brands created equal where rubbing is concerned? Will all seasons rub more? I'm interested in picking up something with decent tread wear with all year practicability in Charlotte, NC. Car wont be driven in the snow. Supercar 3's are just too soft and not my preference for a DD. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you wanting to put taller tires on the car? If so why?

I have no idea what you are asking, but I made this chart to help me size winter options and determine how to keep the same wheel-radius so height/rubbing would not be affected, it's an excel so I can put in the tolerance (+ or -) I want to see what might work:

use this site for your tire sizing. It will spell out everything for you including speedo error. My advice to you is to go as close to stock diameter as possible. I don't see any reason to step up to 35 series tires at all unless you are running narrower wheels. I chose to get a used set of SS wheels and run 255/35 and 275/35 tires.

Continental or michelin in stock size would be the best choice imo.

Why use a 35 when you can get a 30? Makes no sense..

If you're going 35, make sure your width is still stock size. I ran 35 profile on a Nitto nt05r.. and that caused my stabilitrak and other traction control modules to go crazy. Unless you're using a 35 profile for a track or something, don't do it. Just stick to the 30's.

I've been told wrong I guess, but nevertheless, a 35 profile might be too big depending on the tire. Those Nitto NT05's had a really big sidewall.

I would suggest the MP4S in OEM size if you want a great DD tire with excellent performance. And if you are selling your G3's, I'll buy them at a good price.

From personal experience a 35 series tire in the 285/305 width will not work. It will hit on the front strut spring perch and tear the shoulder off the tire and rub on the liners. And for the rear it will hit the fender opening and tear up the rear fender liner. Went with 295/335 tires in 30 series on my 1Le

I live in Canada and will only use the G3s for summer and track duty. With temps just above freezing I have the bfgoodrich comp2 a/s tires, 275/35/20 up front and 285/35/20 rear and the tires fit well on the stock rims, have excellent traction for all weather tires, and give a good daily driven ride IMO. A lot of peeps seem to recommend other tires but if you drive I colder weather and may see snow these are great. I had to drive home in the snow one day because it snowed while at work and the traction was excellent and this is compared to my SUV on snow tires so I would not discredit these tires at all. Additionally they have excellent treadwear and cost half what a set of Michelins or Continentals retail for.

I'm waiting for PS4S to be available in more sizes but they only work on the 1SS not the 2SS.
