I need turn signals at least. But also, side monitor warnings as well in there would be beat

The side monitor warnings would be brilliant on the hud. Re shift lights, the 2014 car had them. http://youtu.be/dvWszltDCdI

The Shift lights were there on my ZL1 M6 but you had to have the car in one of the Performance modes to make them visible.

Even then they only lit up in the upper RPM range.

curious. so I tried it myself in all modes and would not display. Not sure if the print of the owners manual is incorrect, but is it specific to an auto vs a manual?

So do these exist or not? Never seen them on my A8.

I have an A8, but I agree with this assessment. The HUD could be a very capable accessory. Right now, it seems to be a very minimalist piece of technology. They advertise it as being color. Yeah, there are a couple of colors, but it's about as bland as a stale cracker.

If its in the manual, somewhere along the design and implementation process the features did exist and were on paper as part of the HUD. Whatever happened GM should support the owners manual and customers.

Bring the car into your dealer, point it out in the manual, and tell the service manager you're not taking your car home until you see a shift light in the HUD.

Guess you plan on leaving your car there for awhile!

I have had shift lights built into aftermarket rpm gauges in the past but I have always shifted based off sound and feel. If you know your car you can hear and feel when you need to shift. Some drivers swear by them but call me old school and use my instincts to shift which has never proven me wrong

The best way I found figuring out shift points in the past was using a GTech. I gained 1.5 mph in the 1/4 (at a real track) using the g-force data provided by the GTech by changing my shift points between 150-200rpm.

There are probably modern apps nowadays that can help with that.

I think they messed up the performance Hud screen.
Mine doesn't show a shift light, but far more annoying is the fact that navi directions show up on it which the manual says they should not. I'm probably going to bring it up at the dealer when I go in to get my rims.
I'm over the shift light cause I can feel when to shift, but the directions are still annoying.

How can we bring this to the attention of anyone at GM who can correct the issue at the factory level and get a recall out there to reprogram currently build vehicles? I understand that most people won't actually care about these things, but since I don't have my car yet, I want to make sure when I do drop $44K+ on mine, that I get the most possible out of it that I was intended to get.
GM customer engagement center.
I'm going to reach out to them after I speak with my dealer.
