HPDE without the front splitter on SS 1LE
I had two new front tires mounted and the tech crashed the splitter into a parking curb and crushed it. The bumper cover has minor damage. Both are being replaced by the Tire store at their cost, however, it won't be fixed before my track day at Sebring. My plan is to have them remove the damaged splitter and just go without it. Any major issues with that besides a little less downforce?

It wont cause any issues, and I'd be amazed if you noticed any handling difference.

FYI there are 4 rivets that have to be drilled out and it is a pain to remove all of the old adhesive.

Thanks guys - they removed the splitter in about 10 minutes. Not worried about the old adhesive as the entire bumper cover will be replaced as well.

Also you may want the replacement splitter to be aftermarket if you can find a thicker/stronger one.
Maybe you will notice a slight bit of understeer on track without it but I would not skip the event to wait for a new splitter. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=516368 |
