You can buy a lot of wheels and tires for the $20k more you paid for the SS

My money is on LT4Greg. There are people who are not like me, they may be willing to spend a lot more than I would on something I may not even want to buy or think is the "optimal" purchase—and that does not make them stupid or an idiot, even if they "waste" ZL1 money on a Callaway LT1. It's all a couple ten grand in a world of $400K or even $3M supercars, which we may not be able to afford, but then whatever constitutes a good deal is awfully relative.

Why can't some understand that people have preferences and that makes them (and the world) more interesting, it's getting less colorful and more "efficient", "streamlined" every day anyway...

Remove the SC630 and Callaway badges and add the LT1 badge and you would catch lots of unsuspecting competitors off guard.😈

Yeah Scottyz, that statement is on target! I definitely agree.

We are really living in a great time. I love the old muscle cars and grew up around lots of them. But they don’t hold a candle performance and reliability wise. Looks can be subjective though.
But what a great time to be a gearhead
Have had the same discussions with friends over the last few years.
Thought I would never see a 2nd muscle car era. I'm 51 and come along a few year after it but we still had tons of them on the road and lots of people (myself included) hot rodding them. Thought it was a era long gone by the late 80's.
Yet here we are smack dab in the 2nd and likely last one. I'm like you I'm loving it and I guess the biggest part of todays muscle car crowd has no idea the difference. I will always love them old hotrods but the modern muscle sure is fitting to us old farts for sure with all the modern luxery we didn't have back in the day. It took lots of work and money to build the kinda HP we have rolling out of the factories of today. In the early 80's if we built a 350 hp hotrod and could spray it a bit we ruled the streets.
Different time and era but same fun none the less !

305s are too small for the SS. 245 must be like ice skates. The car needs drag radials to hook. Vin Diesel has a nice collection of muscle cars. I think they are 1,500 hp or more. Not sure if he has wheelie bars and chutes.

The LT1 is just the lightest weight 6.2L Camaro so it could be for the stripped out crowd.
I love how all of the manufacturers keep trying to one up each other. Producing factory cars you don’t even have to mod and they practically drive you. I can’t imagine the old cars without the nannies. I’d probably be wrapped up in a tree or telephone pole.

At first I was surprised that they didn't jazz it up a little more than just the shaker hood. Some aero, graphics, etc. 600HP is supercar level of performance. It's special at the least.

But I guess it fits the philosophy behind the LT1 to keep the knick knacks to a minimum and just deliver raw power on the cheap.

Exactly... I would lime to have seen it stripped down even more and maybe a subtle roll cage and a drag pack. Perfection!
