Which mods can be done without a tune?

Hi guys new to the 6th gen ZL1 and will be picking mine up next week. Looking to see what I can do to pickup some extra power without needing to have the car tuned.

Yes sir its true! A CAI and Tonys Ported Throttle body! The car definitely responds better and you certainly pick up some power too. Stock i can run 11.2s at best and with those two mods...11 flat. You notice the difference right away!

Refresh my memory on what this mod does: Borla mid x-pipe? Does it simply mean you have a louder exhaust and better air flow/breathing from the exhaust?

Assuming you still run stock headers and stock muffler? You are removing the stock cats all together?

It replaces the OEM system from after the primary cat to the OEM suitcase muffler. Adds an X pipe to the system as well as eliminates the flattened portion of OEM exhaust pipe under the rear axle.

From what others have said it creates a deep exhaust note. I don't think it'll give much of anything in the way of power.

Borla 60606. I'm going to use a decibel/wavelength meter and do a before and after to see how much it changes the note.

Cool and thanks.

Yes I would do this to replace tbe flattened portion of the OEM exhaust pipe and for the deeper sound. Yes understand about not really getting any power gains.

I thought there was a post, either here or on the Corvette forum, that said 2 airflow enhancements were about the limit of the stock tune without risking a CEL light?

I must be the least sensitive person on the whole Internetz..

This statement implies that you could do back to back pulls in two different cars, cross the line 2 tenths apart and you would be able to tell which car was faster? I think it would be impossible to notice a difference of 2 tenths of a second over a quarter mile, you guys must have the most accurate butt dyno's ever.
