Another rendering of an SUV Camaro
Yeah yeah I know.
Don't kill the Camaro. Don't make it electric. Don't make it an SUV. Blah blah blah. This is for fun. I like the look. It will never happen but we can still discuss. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/c...ht-148437.html

If the Blazer isn't basically a SUV Camaro already, then I can't imagine what would be. It's literally a spitting image of the Camaro

Imagine a Blazer with the Cadillac XTS V-sport drivetrain. Performance AWD and 400 HP. Mmmmmmmmmmmm

Yeah, I am surprised how similar the interior of the Blazer is to the Camaro, down to the temp control vent rings.

it would be another trailblazer ss. except offer less room, a lesser platform for modifications and no v8. not much advancement in 15 years, if you ask me.

Not in performance but the TB was a POS by today’s standards. Plus the TBSS had transmission issues. A Blazer with 400 HP would be much better overall.

We drove and loved the Blazer RS. The problem is that GM is kidding themselves with the MSRP of this vehicle. It costs almost as much as our Infiniti QX50 and the lease payments were higher because the residual value on the Blazer isn't too great. I just told the sales manager that even though we loved the Blazer that we'd just get another Infiniti QX50 lease and a lower lease payment on a car that has a slightly higher MSRP. If GM is going to price their vehicles in the luxury car price range, they might want to improve the quality. The Blazer RS is really nice but it's not a luxury vehicle. And, the residual value to lease it proves my point.

GM should be in the mix with the new Bronco and the Wrangler. Big time opportunity missed here by the blue square with bringing the Blazer name back on essentially a family sedan instead of a true off road capable SUV that looks AND performs the part.
Ford and Jeep are going to be going back and forth for years now, improving the performance and capabilities of those bad boys to keep up with each other, raking in the cash in the process, while GM is just gonna pretend they didn't need to be a part of it. According to GM no one would want an old fashioned body on frame, dozer of a ute that guzzles gas, is rear drive based, handles like crap on paved roads, and has retro styling cues. Laugh - or ignore it - all you want, but Jeep sells every one of the fully loaded Wrangler Rubi's that can top out at $60k that they can make. Ford's internet network crashed on the demand for pre-orders of the Bronco. They're now pushing pre-orders out to 2022 because every single 2021 is already spoken for. Chevy Blazer? Front wheel drive unibody that would break a tierod link within the first 100 feet of a Moab trail. Oh goodie! I myself am actually torn, because I was initially thinking of getting a Wrangler to replace my Accord as an every day driver until the Bronco came along (with the manual transmission of course..... Ford, please, open the Sasquatch package for manual transmissions!) GM, are you listening? Sure would be nice to make both cars in my stable GM. Last edited by Petrol Head; 09-10-2020 at 08:04 AM. |
