LT4 SC Coolant Filler Adapter Tool

I just ordered the Dedicated Motorsports LT4 SC Coolant Filler Adapter Tool to try and bleed the supercharger intercooling system.
This is what I was going to try.

- lift the front of the car with my ramps

- install the adapter tool with bottle and Dex-cool 50/50

- turn on ignition to run to circulate or to start the engine (not sure which one to do)

- let system burp or air bubbles released

- remove adapter tool

Does this sound right?

P.S. this is just a preemptive thing I'm trying not sure if I have an issue.

I use a cut down water bottle and electrical tape I hit the valve every so often while engine is running to bleed

I think the adapter pushes the valve open for you. And the bottle threads in.

So my only question about that is how do you prevent spilling the extra coolant all over the engine when you unscrew adapter from the fill port?

I guess you just pour little bits in there until full and then remove excess with turkey baster or soak up with paper towels???

That is what I was thinking. Don't put too much in the bottle. And I have this to remove extra fluid.

Is this a general maintenance kind of thing or only after repairs where the coolant system has been opened up?

Yes to the above and to remove possible air pockets in the system that may degrade performance.

Dollar store turkey baster works too.

ht600, I saw this item in a post the other day and ordered one yesterday. It's cheap and should be easy to use. I plan to use a Mity-vac to empty the bottle when done.

Other Options

I came over recently from the Corvette group. I purchased my car (ZL1 1LE) about two weeks ago. I have seen several post on removing the air from the coolant systems on these cars. This was an issue on the C5 Z06 I had, so I purchased a tool similar to this one :
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/oes-24444

It seemed to work well and resolved the issues on the Vette. It’s also the process used on many new vehicles by the dealerships.

This might be a good option on these cars as well.

That will not work.

It's not a matter of simply getting a small enough tube in the port to fill. There is a checkvalve that needs to be depressed. Guys that use the upside down bottle with a hose use a thin screwdriver to depress the valve. Your suction gun won't provide a way to depress the valve.

Buy the DMS tool, or buy an aftermarket expansion tank. Or, buy an expansion tank and replumb the system like I did (DMS also makes adapters to convert the male push fittings on the blower to -12an fittings).
