O.K. That explains it. Although I've been gone about 17yrs now, I knew we didn't normally work that hard (given a choice). Good on ya and keep us posted on this monster you're building. If I had the skills I'd do the same... just got my sights set on E-85 and will probably quit after that- but I think we all say that til the next mod sounds really good.

It’s an addiction I also have a 2001 under the knife, one seater. Contemplating buying ZL1 1LE

I believe a ZL1 is probably the best vehicle investment anyone can make right now - Go man go!

Keep it up bud. I put a SC on my 3.6L V6 Challenger and there was some blood and tears, but in the end well worth the effort and the results were amazing. Supercharge it. And get a ZL1. This is my first Camaro (3 firebirds and 1 chally), but this stock 1ss is the fastest vehicle I have been in. The torque would kill my sc chally (never dyno'd, but I was hanging with scat packs.). I want to do the hurst install but terrified about messing with my warranty-then my wife would kill me.

On your project-I'd suggest putting a 4.10 rear end in it. I had a '98 TA and put the 4.10 in and it kicked like a mule. WOW. Good luck and it is an addiction.

Reverse Lockout

I just purchased the Hurst short throw shifter for my 6 Gen SS. One last question before I go forward with the install , dose it negate the reverse lockout feature ? Looking forward to your replies. Thanks.

friend of mine had a warranty claim on his mt82 2019 gt denied because of an mgw shifter.

Good to know. I was never in for trans issues. I never pushed the mt82 and I’m sure if I drove it like I do this car, it would mean a lot of missed shifts and eventual failure.

I just had this shifter installed in my LT1. I absolutely love it, but I have a metallic rattle/buzz coming from the shifter area around and above 2500 RPM and up. It seems to be a little better when the shifter is gripped, but is still there.

Any suggestions on what to check first, or is this expected?

Thank you!

i think the negative mt82 hype is real. he is & always has been one of the best drivers around here and that mt82 gives him nothing but trouble. he's got a calimer trans and new clutch for it. i think he's doing it next weekend so maybe get a chance this year to see if it helps.

now my complaint about the tr6060 is the linkage stuff and how sloppy the shifter feels otherwise. the shifter on my car flops around like a 750k mile eaton 10 speed. i'm guessing i shift it too hard and i've broken something.

No shouldn't buzz all the time if at all, although I think Hurst covers themselves with a reminder its a competition shifter and may be noisier/require more effort than stock in the install instructions.

Was it installed at a dealer? If so I'd take it back and tell'em its not a common issue.

You could also follow Hurst's instructions and access the top side by removing the panel and looking for a cause there, It's easy to do and might
reveal a cause. Good luck- it is a great shifter.

This is best install file I have seen and will certainly help you get in the top side of the shifter or any deeper you want to go- file:///C:/Users/Mark/Downloads/Hurst%20Shifter%20Install(JE_updated)%20(1).pdf
