I had a 99 Camaro SS new when I was 19 and I loved it. I was sad when the Camaro was discontinued and when they brought back the 5th gen, I felt it looked bloated and the interior looked liked it was designed by Little Tykes.
I have been telling myself for 15 years that I was going to get a new Vette when I turn 40 in 2.5 years. But I'm a car nut and I wanted to check out the new 16s, and well, a wild hair up my butt is what made me get it. Oh, that and the promise to my wife that I would give up on my Vette dream since I really didnt really need 3 vehicles at once.

what sold it for me after having a 3rd gen and 4th gen was that they ditched the truck platform and went with the alpha.

The power and the interior is what sold me. Specifically the Kalahari leather.

I originally fell in love with the new stingray, but the price increases put it out of my range. I knew the Camaro was getting redesigned so I followed the whole reveal progression here. Once I saw the new interior and heard it had 455 HP I was sold (had always liked the exterior and they only made it more aggressive looking).

My first car was a 3rd Gen 1987 Camaro LT (with a crappy 170hp carb'd V8). Nevertheless, I loved that car so much as it represented freedom and a change in my life (from child to teenager). However, it had it's problems and subsequent American cars I've owned ('85 GMC Jimmy which caught fire, '93 Jeep Grand Cherokee which was in limp mode for 80% of my ownership even though nothing mechanical was wrong and 2001 Ford Focus which broke the ignition switch 4 times) made me very wary of buying another American car.
I said to myself, "I am going to stick with Japanese cars" (specifically Subarus) and it was a good choice more or less from 2004 until 2015. But I always had my eye on what Ford, Chrysler and GM were putting out and over the last few year, they have really hit a good stride (especially GM). In 2015, I tried my first German car (2015 Audi S4)...it was great but it just wasn't my cup of tea. At that point, word of how much more advanced the Camaro was shaping up to be started to take shape. Already, GM had blown many people away with the C7 Corvette as well as the CTS and ATS. When reviews started to come in (especially the Motor Trend Car of the Year) I decided to place my order and come full-circle back to the Camaro. I've owned my 2SS for almost a week and I am SO HAPPY with it.

It's as quick as a Corvette and easier to get in and out of. Period!

I was interested in it anyways, having a Gen 5 and being a Camaro fan in general but what really got me excited was seeing this guys video and the sheer joy when he "got on it" (at about the 9 minute mark I believe).
That and then actually test driving one sold me. |

I have always wanted to own a least 1 rear wheel drive V8 car(never have) so when I seen the 6th gen and how the Camaro was mopping the competition in both looks and performance, I thought at 48 years I'd better do something quick, so I ordered one(GMS) on 4/2/2016 - Hyper blue metallic, Silver Wheels, MRC & NPP to top it off.

I always liked the way it looked, and the performance bargain speaks for itself. But when I finally sat in one was when I knew I had to have one. The seat and interior fit me like a tailored suit, and coming from a 5th gen it felt many times higher in quality.

Performance goes without saying but the car is superbly well rounded. I don't buy into the visibility thing. With mirrors properly adjusted, I have ZERO blind spots. The space is poor but can we really make that complaint of a Camaro?? I can't think of many things that i'd change... All the best, Jared Royce 801.545.4215 |

I had a 1973 Camaro when I was in my 20s and it was my favorite car. With being a widower now I wanted to relive those youthful memories. When I saw Motor Trend Magazine video when they named it the Car of the Year I was hooked. Fill in love all over again.
