Got my boot from eBay this week and installed. Thanks for the DIY. The only thing I will add is when the side close to the center was a little tight I went over to the driver side and lifted up that part of the center console slightly and this helped get the boot around all the way. This is a great cheap mod & I agree it should have come like this from factory for at least leather seats.

Just installed mine.
Great write up Stig, you are The Man. As Stig mentioned, sit in the passengers seat and pull the e brake sideways towards you to make this thing fit. It takes a little finess, but is an easy mod

Resurrecting this cause for the life of me I cannot get the leather to go inside under the center console. I have pulled the e brake til I thought it was broken, and still cannot get it in there.
