Speed SF Thunderhill West 4/10-4/11 Anyone Going?
I am initiating my new camaro to the track. I have driven Thunderhill west in both directions a few years ago when I had an STi.
I am still working on getting to 1500 miles so I can get the rear axle fluid replacement before I go. Any other camaros going to be there? |

I’m considering it. I just had my first outing myself, same track! It was great fun! Such a capable car. I suggest getting an alignment too along with brake fluid upgrade. That’s what I did. Sustained wonderfully. Unsure if it would have been as good without those things.
I’ve been looking to run the east track or Sonoma or Laguna next. But, like I said, I may do THill west again. |

Just signed up! I'll be there Sunday in the mixed group!
As of now, I think we're the only 2 camaros going based on SFSpeed's list. Hope a few others join us. |

Hey guys that was a blast today! Nice to meet you Dan. rasthravas, apologies for not coming by to say hi. The Crush looked amazing on track in the bright sun. I was the light gray 1LE. My first time on the West course and I really enjoyed it.

Captain slow
It was great to see you guys and your great looking machines.
I will just call myself captain slow. The car definitely goes faster that I am ready for. I look forward to getting in on a little more "open" track. I will say the car performed flawlessly. My tech setup still needs work (separate GPS is on the way). I am amazed at how the e-Diff modulates coming out of corners. |

Yeah it is so fast it is kind of terrifying at first. I am actually considering building a slower track car (Exocet) for that reason. You get kind of numb to the speed and then you realize you are sideways at 100 mph. I agree on the diff. It is really terrific. So easy to catch slides when you are on the gas.

I'm attaching the TrackAddict screen from my best lap, 1:27.717. Stock everything, RBF600 brake fluid, track alignment, PTM Sport 2.
I looked at my best sectors and my theoretical best for the day was 1:26.8. It seemed like every time I would get the tires and brakes up to temp and get a good lap going, I would run into that silver Civic going 35 mph or the weird bulbous white kit car would spin in front of me... I think my biggest time losses are braking too much for 1, letting off too much for 5, and most importantly not using all the road on the exit of 10. I'm just really not interested in getting anywhere near a tire wall. But using all the road there would let you me carry so much more speed through 10 and onto the straight. Next time... |

Great time Mike! I think you’re carrying a little more speed than me on the first left in T1 and over the crest at T8. Well done!
Really disappointed with my track map and data from racchrono. Doesn’t align with the map so I don’t fully trust the accuracy. Unsure what’s going on. Maybe it was the placement of the gps unit?! Anyway, best I could muster was 1:28.4 from the transponder I rented. Hope to get the video up. For now, here’s transponder data... |

Great info from that track addict map Mike. Good to see the kind of times a stock vehicle can get too.
I am looking at Willow Springs Big Willow at the End of May. If you want to stretch the legs of your car, that is the track to do it! |
