The only thing that the 1LE package includes that's also directly included in the 2SS package is the HUD.

Recaro's, NPP, and Mag Ride amount to something like $4300 in add-on's to the 2SS. How much more for the wheels and tires that are included in that package?

Yes, I see your [valid] point. But, it's arguably a small portion of the cost of that package.

Most new ZL1s are in the high 60s and low 70s... That is a 20k difference

Yup, well aware, and that is way overpriced. Used ZL1s were popping up in the mid $40K range in March, most had under 5,000 miles on the odometer.

There are deals if you look and wait.

I just stumbled across a 2020 1SS/1LE with 250 miles on it at a BMW dealer negotiated $38k.

In my opinion the 1LE package is the best bang for the buck. The 2SS, not so much.

I wouldn't touch a car like this in the used market. Way too risky that it was not properly broken in, driven way too hard, or even damaged. And that's exactly why they don't hold their value compared to new.

Yeah that was March which was the lowpoint. With little to no inventory now car prices have jumped up. If you find a ZL1 for mid $40K range now it likely is damaged or has a rebuilt/salvaged title.

Most clean ZL1's are going for mid $50's now. You might be able to negotiate to $52ish, depending on year and mileage.

Winter should help if you are willing to travel to a state that has snow on the ground, prices usually drop then. I buy most of my sports cars in the Northeast between Nov-Feb. Usually dealers will come down $4-6K off price (used).

I'd tend to agree with you, especially if it was a cheaper v8 like an SS or Mustang gt, but a new ZL1 is not as easy to walk out of the dealer with, and most people who can do it will likely have it as a weekend toy that they care for. Is there risk? Sure absolutely. Also, I wouldnt be overly concerned about a proper break in on a ZL1, it is forged and nowhere near as fragile as an LT1. I think you overestimate how many people can actually afford to buy a new ZL1 AND rip on it from the get go. I would imagine 90% of the used ZL1 are for sale because the wife of the owner found out how much the car really is and threatened him with a divorce if he doesn't get out of the outrageous insurance and loan payments.

Nope. They are very competitively priced against everything in the market. That means they are, in fact, NOT OVERPRICED. You are just cheap or cannot afford them. Those are entirely different concepts.

Right, that's why they dipped down to the mid $40K range used earlier this year whereas gt350s either held their value or appraised higher than the original purchase price at the very same moment in time. I'm sorry if you cannot understand worth and depreciation, the ZL1s value drops almost exponentially quicker than it's direct competitor the gt350. Don't know about cheap, but it is tough to afford a single family home's mortgage in South Florida AND a new ZL1 on my salary. I settled for a bare LT1, no regrets.

Sorry but your wrong. I owned an 18 GT350 and was checking almost weekly on auction and trade in values from March until August when I sold the car. I bought the car in November 2019 with 1400 miles on the odometer for $49K out the door. It was the best deal within 500 miles forthe year and mileage. In March/April my car was worth $37-41K. This was the lowpoint. 2018 GT350, clean title, 4K miles, tech pack. In August when I sold the car the values went up to $45-49K. Almost a $10K swing even though Carvana still only wanted to give me $42K for the car. i ended up getting just under $49K.

The same price swing you are seeing for GT350's you are seeing for ZL1's. In fact it's more likely that Ford produced more GT350/R than GM produced ZL1/ZLE. GT350/R production should be around 30K and counting. They made a ton of them. Price is driven by supply and demand and you just don't see a ton of used ZL1/ZLE for sale in my region.

Sorry this is a thread tangent (I'm new here): where can you find OEM replacments? Is there a Camaro6 recommended online vendor? Thanks!
