I made it 7500 with mine. I've only felt it 3 to 5 times so it's not bad. It goes in tomorrow for another flush and the new shifter. The dealership seems pretty confident that if it does it again they will replace. We will see.

Reading these positive experiences makes me feel better about my 2016's shuddering issue. I just bought my car with 25K miles. I noticed the shuddering as soon as I drove home from the dealership. They're supposed to completely flush mine in a couple days. The service manager is pretty confident they'll eliminate the problem.
*fingers crossed* |

I drove the Camaro first time yesterday since the flush. Did not shudder. It was spending alot more time in v8 mode. Only went to 4cyl mode when coasting. I guess it is from the relearn mode.

Hi, when you say the newest TSB are you referring to the 18-na-355. That is the most current one I could find

I haven’t driven my car in 2 months. But last time I drove it, it’s been 10,000 miles and no shudder in V6 mode.

It's going to vary as for if the flush works or not.
1st, was the flush done with the blue label fluid or before 1st quarter 2019? because it will only count if it's blue label - which means at the earliest ...the 2nd quarter of 2019. 2nd, when did you get your flush(s) done? After you had significant shudder or right at the onset? If you wait too long, you will cause permanent damage to the torque convertor and no amount of fluid change is going to fix it. How long is too long? Nobody really knows. If you only feel it in your gas pedal you're probably safe. If the car is shaking bad enough for passengers to notice, maybe not safe anymore. You should really not drive the car once you start feeling the shudder (you feel tcc shudder when cruising at very low engine load at constant speed (usually in final gear)). The shudder can cause varnishing of the convertor and that's what causes perm damage. Get the fluid flush asap and you're good to go. It really wont matter if it's in v4/v6/v8 mode. If the fluid isn't blue label and your driving habits lead to cool trans fluid a lot of the time, then it'll attract water that never evaporates out and you will eventually get tcc shudder. If v4 mode does anything, it just gives you aheads up that it's happening. I've had user selectable afm since mid 2016 and almost exclusively drive in sport mode (afm off) and still got it, with 36k miles and no trans coolers (so my fluid gets hot regularly) in relatively dry climate. It's not a matter of if you get this.. just when since we all got the same fluid and the fluid was flawed. |

Cellsafe is right. This is a flawed fluid which attracts water. Once you get the "shudder" you already have parts wearing unevenly. Transmission clutches are supposed to slide then grab in a smooth fashion. Not sticky-sticky then grab. |

I had the shudder and flush at 17K miles. Shudder returned at approx. 20K miles, so TC was replaced. Now I'm past 55K miles with no sign of the shudder.
Love this car!

I'd really suggest absolutely everyone with the A8 (and even early A10's) get all new fluid put in if it has fluid from before the 2nd quarter of 2019. Regardless of symptoms. You really dont want to wait for the issue to get bad enough to cause shuddering before dealing with it. |
