Great advice.

I live in Chicagoland and I got quoted $2300 from a reputable shop to install Headers and a Cam (I don't think that included the tune but it may have). Labor only. Just to give the OP some ballpark of costs.
I was figuring around $7,000-8000 for everything so that $11,000 does seem absurdly high.

Yes, I did all of the install. Then Ted did remote tuning over a serious of weeks. I'll remember those weeks for my whole life. Cold streets, 2 and 3rd gear pulls, PS4s.....

This is what you should be able to get for the $8000 max , drop it off pick it up when it’s done. This is the $10,000 Canadian package.

Thanks, but I am in Texas; I need a good shop in Houston that hopefully someone on here has prior experience with.

I would think there are several good shops in the Houston area. I was just giving you an example of what you should be able to get at the very least for that 11,000 quote, I hope you find somebody that’s fair.

I’d contact LMR in the Atlanta area to compare the costs for the same mods. $11k seems on the high side for what you’re wanting. I wouldn’t pay it either and would at least include a ported blower if I decide to mod.

At least you’re in an area that has a few shops nearby. There’s no one in my area so I’d be out shipping or be in for a long drive.

You're wrong about that. 2" headers add around 20-25whp on a stock LT4 depending on the dyno.

You'll notice the sound much more than the power bump if it's only that much. Also, 20-25 rwhp is well within the variance range between stock LT4s that dyno between ~540 and ~580 rwhp.

I'll risk sounding a bit like a shill, but I'm still telling the truth: I'd also recommend that you consider Jannetty's 125 rwhp package. My experience with Ted and his team, both in person and over the phone, are very positive over the years, they are reliable professionals and won't do these absurd pricing games. They built my engine and did all the major power upgrades on my car, and it's been running like a champ for years.

His invoices are detailed down to the last gasket and bolt, with part numbers, and they are pretty honest with their rates; one time he even dropped prices vs his quote (that I had accepted and signed for), because the work didn't take as long as he'd expected. The last time I had to get engine mods and fixes done on the car I just sent it to them on a trailer and back, with zero issues. I have complete trust in them and their work.
