SS Badge Fell Off Seat
Just found the "SS" badge sitting on my driver's seat. There are three little circles on the back where it looks like it was fastened to something on the other side of the leather (inside the seat), but whatever that thing was appears to have disappeared. What's the best way to stick the badge back on? Double-sided tape of some sort?

One day when I got home from work it was just starting to get dark and I saw a GMC emblem on the driveway under the back of my new Acadia. I said, wtf did that come from. Fell off the back? I reached down to pick it up and the rear lift gate opened up and whapped me in the head. It was then I realized it was a logo light beam where you put your foot to activate the liftgate. LOL. Sorry, know that's not much help to you but worth a laugh.

I would probably go with a contact cement suitable for upholstery. Someone here may know of a specific brand. You need something that won't be affected by the wide temperature swings in a car interior. Same goes for any kind of DS tape you might use.

Yeah, temperature swings here in Arizona are insane. I'm thinking most double-sided tapes will wimp out when it's 115 here in June.

Have an upholsterer take your seat back apart, dig out the piece and fix it properly. Otherwise, you'll be having the same problem over and over again.

Originally attached by clips on the backside before the leather was put on the seat. Correct fix is to remove seat cover, reattach and replace seat cover. Anything else it will keep falling off and leave nasty residues and such behind. |

I think you're right. I can actually see the backing piece inside the little holes in the seat, but just pressing the badge on doesn't work.

Do not glue it! It’s not a big job to remove the seat cover and do it right.

May be you can try some Gorilla tape. I glued some batches on my seats and they still stick (over a year now). Good is, if I want to get rid of the batches, the glue is easy to clean up.

Did you find a way to fix the emblem? Mine just fell off.

Mine fell off as well. I am interested in getting an auto upholsterer to look at it, but do you think I require a new piece all together first (that I should bring with me)?
