2nd cats delete sound

I'm told the npp is louder when the secondary cats are removed. Can someone who deleted them tell me if they can tell the difference from INSIDE the car.
I don't care too much what the car sounds like from the outside as I only hear it when I'm in the car with the windows down.

Didn't he get a cel because of bad welding?
Since it is after the o2 there should not be an issue, correct?

had the welds fixed and the cel still was there, other people have had the issue as well do some research on it. some people dont get it, some people do. if you get it then tune it or put em back on if the light bothers you.

Tune it? Can I just use a scanner to delete the code? Or will I just keep coming back?
So there is no consensus as to why some people have this happen and others do not?
Is there any draw back to just letting to cel stay up?

You can clear the code via a scanner, but if the ecm is seeing an issue it will keep coming back on. I have a few theories as to why some get it and some not but nothing definitive. I may or may not be right, but I believe when your check engine light is on your engine will not perform to its fullest, kind of like a limp mode. You can do some research on camaro5 about deleting the secondary cats some guys that had the code put the cats back on and the code went away. Coincidence?

Cat backs delete the second cats, don't they? Or would that keep them from carb approval?

Most if not all do I believe. I believe that if the secondary cat removal is done right the first time it will not throw a code. If the pipe is replaced with 2.5 or 3 inch instead of 2.75 (stock size) it may throw a code. If the pipes are not welded fully and leak it will most likely throw a code. Once the code is thrown it is permanently stored in the ecm and will continue to come on even the if pipes are replaced with the right diameter or the leaky welds are fixed because the ecm only knows the right calibration for the rear cats to be there. These once again are only theories that I have acquired with my research after my light came on. Only theories don't quote me. Lol I'm not trying to deter you from deleting your cats. Just know that there is a possibility that a light will come on. It has happened on more then one occasion.
