Somebody help me understand lambda

I just bought a PLX DM-6. It has options to switch from gas, lamda, E85, diesel, etc. My question is if i switch to lambda how does it know what fuel I am running? If i burn gas stoich is 14.7 so the lamda is 1 but if i switch to E85 my gauge still shows a lamda of 1.0. Isn't lamda still dependent on what kind of fuel you run?

Nope. That’s the beauty of using lambda. No matter what fuel you’re using 1 lambda is always stoich.
