After modifying the manifold this appears to be straight forward. I’ll port mine myself too when I get one.

Thanks for pictures and the post. Now to accumulate the parts.

What is the purpose of the big long thin piece thats bolted up behind the throttle body adapter?

Also I'm assuming buying the Katech LT1 to LT5 throttle body adapter and buying an OEM LT5 TB is still the cheapest way to get a higher flowing throttle body?

And I thought the Katech adapter was tapered to fit a stock non-ported LT1 manifold size?

The long bracket is where I place my Nitrous solenoids. In regards to selecting a TB I decided to go with the factory LT5 because well the ZR1 makes good power so it can’t be bad. My previous build I went with the Katech 103MM and felt maybe going that big caused me or at least caused my tuner to have headaches. Looking for a more stable air flow.

I'm interested in the fit as well. I feel that shaving down the fins and maybe washers would clear just fine but hard to tell from here.

is there any reason not to use any of the other adapters vs katech? i'm using the ict billet adapter and it seems fine.

the only issue i have is the adapter pushed the rotofab elbow into the fan cage. it all fits but i'm not real happy with it.

Here’s a fitting pic. I am not putting it back on but just tested for you. It clears the intake manifold by 1/16 off an inch, plenty of room when the engine revs up unless your motor mounts are lose.

I used 2 nuts and I would recommend 2 black spacers.

You need to use both long bolts that come with strut tower brace. So you need to find 2 more longer bolts.

No reason for the Katech other then they had a good price and they are close to me. I am using a custom made intake elbow that I purchased and cut/grind to clear that area.

I would be really interested to see how your WOT vaccum looks through a RPM sweep. I have a pray ported LT1 on mine now with a LT2 manifold and a 228/236 .635/.635 TSP cam and ported TSP heads. Currently I am pulling almost 5 kPa down from barometric at full WOT RPMs.

I can't figure out from standard engine theory, if there is a standard accepted WOT vacuum that is normal? Or if it depends on the MAP location? Or if the stock systems account for the velocity of the airmass when sensing the pressure at the MAP port? I have found on my logs that once I got WOT I get higher barometric pressure readings, which I assume is just a normal part of the GEN V system? I think it may have something to do with the new multi wire maf sensors that I believe have the humidity and barometric sensors incorporated into them, which would make sense that going WOT with full airflow velocity would disturb their readings.

Probably a better question to post to the HP Tuners forums than distract from your thread.

Possibly might need a tune. She is running leaning, will give it a few days to see if ECU corrects itself. I want a tune anyways to squeeze a few more HP out of the car.

I agree sounds way better. Did u remove the foam pad? That would help to project more sound.

Did u get any check engine light. I did. Maybe I should try a battery disconnect.
