Emissions delete help?
I will admit I probably don't belong here but the internet is seriously lacking information on the LTG engine!
I bought one with the intention of installing it on my caterham. A new custom wiring harness has been ordered but this engine has tubes and such coming out of the demon hole. I'm hoping this forum can help since its the most content rich I've seen. Before anyone makes the claim I'm violating federal emissions.. The car is registered as a 1964 and this isn't subject to any regulations. The fact I run a cat puts me years ahead of that era. Does anyone have any links or literature on that type of stuff? Here is a link if anyone is bored enough to read more - www.exportedafrican.com |

Very cool! I'm a big Caterham fan, being a long time Lotus owner/enthusiast.
Do you already have this document? http://www.chevrolet.com/content/dam...-193288371.pdf Post up specifically what you're struggling with, and we'll help as much as we can.

Thanks guys!
One of the questions that I've been thinking about is the coolant overflow system. Right now my plan is to use a pressurized radiator with built in cap. Then loop the heater core pipes together. The crate motor paperwork indicates they want someone to use the factory overflow tank but the size is a problem. Anyone have any ideas on that? Also are there any block off plate kits for emissions removal? Thanks |

I figured shooting a video would be an easy way of identifying parts.
Is there a food online resource besides looking at parts diagrams? Parts in question - https://youtu.be/SxHX24gIXLg |

Item A: evap purge sol. valve. Should have some lines that tie into the rest of the evap system
Item B: looks to be the coolant air bleed pipe. One side is the coolant return for the turbo,(Item C) so you are correct there. I believe it ties into a Y shaped hose that runs to the overflow tankone one side and radiator on the other.

Item D: I think that's the pcv tube that runs from the turbo to the top of the cam cover. Everything else looks like you got it figured out.

Parts resources; try ThatGMPartsGuy, and GMPartsGiant.
As for a coolant overflow, I think GM implemented an overflow tank style versus expansion tank style. I don't believe it matters which you do, and probably has more to do with the height of the expansion tank. If I were in your shoes, given you already have a radiator w/pressure cap (and presumably an overflow tank nipple) I'd pick up a generic expansion tank that fits your engine bay and go from there, like this:

Thanks guys. This is awesome!
My plan is to use my existing radiators but like your picture it has an external overflow. I don't like the idea of running a y splice on the return and supply side. Would be open to other ideas. Perhaps pulling the throttle body coolant system and using that loop? |
