I could see it not being accurate if the numbers appeared to be rounded to nearest zero, or estimated...but the ones that have odd-ball numbers, front and rear, appear to have some type of more accurate system going...

(Unlike the now infamous 4700lb curb weight that Caddy admitted was an "estimate").....I just find it odd that no "curb weight" is shown in the specs in the manual for each car or displayed on a sticker somewhere...

Buddy's GT PP Premium GVWR is listed at 4,720 and capacity is 668.

4,720 - 668 = 4,052.. OMG. FORD IS LYING ABOUT WEIGHT.

I hope one of these cars on the tour gets filled up with gas at a travel center that includes a certified weight scale, and just for kicks have them weighed with no luggage or personal gear. I have no doubt these cars are going to weigh what GM has stated to be and we can go on to something else. Who has the bare bones manual 1SS driving duties?

I think this is the most likely scenario. Heaviest possible combination per the trim the sticker is stamped on.

As Chef says, if these things were right on, then the Mustangs must weigh a hell of a lot more than we though. I the case of the Camaro it might be closer, but I would bet money that it is not a "perfect" number. It is an assumed scenario...if that makes any sense.

If so... Welcome my friend.

I'd try to avoid saying much about that here lol
I think you might have me confused. I go by s550hopeful on 6g. I normally try to stay away from rants and what not. Like going on the forums for info and cheap parts lol.

I don't find it odd that the curb weight is not anywhere in the car. I personally have never seen a car with actual curb weight somewhere on the car. Too many variables including models, options, engines etc. If these weights we are coming up with off these stickers is anywhere close to the actual curb weight I would be shocked.

+1, that's a number we need to see.

That's a 54lb difference between two "official" weights of the same car.

I'm curious how that is going to pan out. Obviously someone is wrong or is lying..but who is it?
The difference in weight could be about 8 gals. of fuel.
