Long tube headers and a tune, whatever you do, don't do a muffler delete. It sounds like a weak tractor and when the AFM kicks in, its going to sound like a bathroom sound. Happy modding.
Heres what the headers, CAI and muffler delete sounds like. Its pretty gross, real anemic sounding. But if you cam it and run open headers should be more like this (first time at the local badly prepped 1/8th, not a good night..)

Honestly, for the headers, at least if you stay with a 1 7/8 you don't have to worry about any contact with the frame, so the headers can be done by yourself in an hour or 2, and don't need any other mod to function and make you loud, they will still work without a tune, but they will not give you the same power increase they otherwise could with a proper tune, and they will throw a check engine light. And you'll likely foul out your O2 sensors pretty quick.
But the other dudes said it well, those are all good mods to throw on that will help it breathe and give you crisp throttle response. The butt dyno will be happy until the itch for more mods comes along...and it does..

If I decide to go that route I will probably have mine ceramic coated to keep down on the engine bay heat. |

Headers and tune will improve performance. Muffler delete will make it loud if that is what you mean by a lot of sound. Don't do the muffler delete without headers or it will sound like you need a muffler, not like the car is quick.
I have Speed Engineering headers on my truck. They are good for the price.
