All season
Made in USA (unlike the garbage firestone summer tire that is made in mexico/Japan)
< $600 a set (cheaper than any other quality tire)

Not all Firestone tires are made the same. YMMV

I'm thinking the specs for the official Indy car tires are a weeeee bit more rigid than for Firestone street tires.

At Rudy's recommendation, I put General GMax on my second set of wheels and installed them myself-one of my goals was to become independent of the tire store. These UHP A/S tires (480 wear rating vs ~200 for most summers) are used for mileage situations so I don't run down the OE Pirelli summers on the highway. I can switch back and forth as my schedule requires. I am very pleased with them so far but I don't drive in rain and snow if I can avoid it.

If you are expecting 20,000+ miles on any summer tire, you don't understand enough about tires and need to do some more research.

As far as Firestone (Bridgestone) is concerned, their biggest problem is that some marketing genius has decided that the Firestone brand is the only tire suitable on 'American Muscle Cars'. We don't get OE sizing for Bridgestone's excellent Potenza high performance line. Big mistake IMHO.

BTW, I see that Goodyear won the contract for tires on the SIX.

The GMax tires are great, but kinda disagree with you on the 20,000+ miles on a summer tire. Currently at 18k for my car and the tires have good tread left. I think it depends on the person, car, alignment, conditions and a ton of other variables. But generally I'd say you're right on that point since they do wear quickly.

I went 53K on my P-zeros. I bought some Bridgestones from COSTO, $840+/-, if they last 30K, I will be happy.

Seems a good price.

I put those on my 82 Corvette. Never again. Cheap for a reason. Stay away.

I just put Nitto Motivos on mine for $708 from Discount. Part of their Memorial Day sale. Have a $75 rebate coming in the mail. Had planned the Falkens until I caught the sale.

Just go to TireRack.com and read reviews by people who have actually experienced the tires on their cars rather than hear opinions from those who haven't purchased them.

Never had a problem (I road force balance once a year) with my Continental DWS Extreme's after almost 19k miles. Rears will probably last another 20k. Fronts are going to have to be replaced in another 6-8k though. Not sure why people aren't looking at these other than the price.

Yep, good deal. They're great tires. Wore the full set before I switched the rears to Nitto's. I still have the 275's in the front. That tire's got great traction, wet or dry. Now I get a little nervous in the rain with my rears, but the front end control is there. Go for it.

And just because of it , you really think that the tires one buy from them has anything to do with those 200MPH ones ?!
