Hankook R-S3

It looks like there is a matching alternative for the GY's.

Has anyone tried these on their ZL1 yet. Seems that reviews show much better than the GYs and a shade lower than the MPSS. I am more interested in HPDE or AutoX feedback if possible. (So far most online reviews are for smaller cars like S2000, WRX....etc)

I have them but in 305-30-19. Better grip than the Goodyears more like a step towards track in terms of grip. Stiff but not uncomfortable in my size. Out of the tires I've tries, Bridgestone RE-11, Yokohama AD08R, Goodyear F1s, BF Goodridge G force Rivals , Nitto Nt05s, these are the most composed, comfortable yet highest grip tires I tried but still I am trying to debate if the Bridgestone RE-11 is as good at the extreme limit.

I ran the Hankook Ventus V12's on my 2009 CTS-V after the OE Michelin Pilot's wore out. I got 22k out of the Pilot's, drove the car pretty hard and they were good to the last drop! When I say i drove the car pretty hard I mean in the twisties (never seen the logic of the street burnout).

The Hankooks were 1/2 the price of the Michelins ($900/$1700) BUT they lost their performance at about 8,000 miles. They still had 4-5 32nd's but would get "slimy" when they heated up. I sold the car with the Hankooks on it, but would have sucked it up and went back to the Michelins if I would have had it when they need to be replaced.

FWIW - I am NOT a fan of Goodyear performance tires, I don't think they are a good value (cost/performance/wear). Michelins are the best.....and priced accordingly. Hankooks might be a good choice if you are on a budget or use the car to commute but expect less performance and less life.

I have the R-S3's on my C6 now and had Michelin PSS's before. I like the Hankooks way better. They handle 750rwhp a bit better.

Any opinions on how the Hankooks would fare as a winter tire on the ZL1?

It's going to be that time of year soon enough...

Question

Anybody else with the Hankook RS3 (version 2) that can share their experience with them on their ZL1? How do they compare to our stock GY?

I have them, and I like them, only been on the ground for a week or two so really too early to tell, As L99CAMA2011 above, I too have them in the 305-30-19. Wanted something with a UTQ code of no lower than 200.
I will say they blow away the stock GYs, but in the size and wheel configuration I'm running its not really a fair comparison.
Sorry,
Not much help I know.
