Am i getting screwed with??

So im new to this forum...need you guys' help...so when i orded my camaro back in oct...the dealer tried to give me a rough estimate on the car...started throwing out numbers and they said they were going to charge me 500 dollars for the transmission...i bought the 2ss with the manual, which on the website and the printout they gave me comes standard on the car! So why on earth would i pay extra for something that is already standard? I dont know how really to go about this when i pick up the car and actually sign something when i buy it...i mean couldnt i call that false advertising?? thanks! and i love this site!

Yes, you're getting screwed with!!! The manual comes standard, no additional charge. The auto on the other hand is about an extra $995 or something, close to $1K. Sounds like their trying to make some extra cash out of you!!! Not really sure how they can do that legally if it comes standard. Better get it straighened out and double-check all the rest of your erroneous charges too.

I would address it now, not later. If he is unwilling to remove the unnecessary charge, you could still have time to cancel and go to another dealership (if you have a refundable deposit).

I know in the past Chevy has charged for the manual trans on some cars. It is possible he was unsure if there would be a charge for it. I would go back work out the numbers now! As much as you want the car....you are negotiating from a position of strength. You should not pay over MSRP, in fact I would wait about 2 months it will go for less. If he says no it will be MSRP + "X", I would use the words "pound sand" and walk out. Go to CamaroScotty and order a car, or I know a dealer who will be more than fair. He has already told me MSRP for the first 6 months and then if I want to buy using a GM employee discount...no problem.

YOU have options.

If you don't take care of it now you are agreeing to pay the markup IMO. Go to the dealer and get your order number at MSRP, or go to another dealer.

I've allways understood that an automatic tranny always cost more. Am I mistaken on this?

Dude hope your deposit is refundable. I hate to hear that.

Oh, and BOOMER!
