Question about ventilated seats?
Hello,
I’m new to the 6th gen platform but I previously owned a 5th gen and was an active member on camaro5 I just had a question on the heated/ventilated seats… Does the function just work on the seat backs or also on the cushions you sit on? I feel like I notice the air on moving through the back of the seat but can’t really feel it on the seat bottoms? |

Try using them when it’s cold outside. You will notice it more. The thicker the material you have on the way less likely you are to feel the ventilation. So theoretically if you go sit in your chair in your undies, you will feel the whole chair a lot better

Put the AC on full blast, and direct it to only the floor. The fans under the seat will suck up that cool air and shoot it up your butt and back. Thats the only real way they work well.

Yup, the seats have two fans, one unde the rear third of the seat cushion and one near the bottom of the seatback. They work well, but aren't super powerful and the A/C trick mentioned above helps if you want more cold airflow.

The Camaro ventilated seats "blow" air? Most "suck"/pull air. On my Ram and F150 the seats pull air. With them on, they would hold a thin paper to the seat back, not blow it away.

I'm ghetto, and therefore have a wife beater covering the seat backs and a plain microfiber towel protecting the seat bottoms.
In the Summer, until the interior heats up, I can feel the ventilation through that stuff pretty easily. The longer I run it, though, without the AC on, the diminished cooling I sense. I agree that having the AC on, especially toward the floor, helps the cooling affect more. They are most effective when there is cool air in the cabin. I thought I read they pick air up off the floor from somewhere.

Also block the cold air from escaping out the back of the front seat into the back seat area. I keep my sunshade behind the driver's seat for this reason but you could use cardboard or other materials.

Heating noticed the seat being heated, but never really noticed if the back gets heated.

Ours works very well on both the seat and seat back.
My wife hates it because she says it feels like she peed herself! I use it when its real hot. But I enjoy the heated seat more.

There are definitely 2 separate fans in the Recaro seats. One for the bottom of the seat and one for your back. The best way to feel the one for the bottom of the seat is to wear swim trunks but it still helps even when you can't feel the airflow through other types of clothing.
