It works perfectly and was engineered flawlessly.

I love it for track days or spirited driving, I do not use it in day to day normal driving because I like to take advantage of engine braking.

I get the occasional non-bump with mine in the on position.

Love it otherwise, great feature.

I actually dislike it on the street. On both my 6th gens it is kind of blotchy on the street. It works very well when going balls out and with NLS but I find my shift timing on the street is smoother.

This is my experience also. I don't turn it on at all now. And I guess I am in the minority here and the fact I like the hill assist.

I have had a manual car since I learned to drive 50 years ago.

It is a cute novelty, kind of like no lift shift.

That’s not engine braking, that’s your clutch wearing out.

Only if he's downshifting AND slipping the clutch on re-engagement.

I never understood why everyone loves some guy in Detroit driving their car.

I always do my own rev matching. It's part of the joy of driving a manual.

Well then the comment would make no sense, because rev-match also takes advantage of engine braking it's not exclusive to shifting without rev-match and it's no different if you are manually rev-matching. The "slow down" from the engine compression is the same in both cases.

I suppose I should have emphasized the "that’s your clutch wearing out" part . . .

Because from outside the car, it sounds like the driver really knows what he's doing? Whether or not he actually does.

Excuse me while I hunt down my flame suit . . .

I used it for a while but it made me lazy and I noticed driving another stick shift that I wasn't as smooth as I used to be - I've gone back to not using it just to stay sharp!
