when do you get the GM survey

How long after you buy your car do you get the survey?

I've had my 2LT since the end of Dec and I've filled out about three so far, not including the new one in my inbox.

Not everyone gets one, it use to be the 2nd Friday after your purchase but now they are coming within a few days as long as you did your welcome call from on Star.

The dealer might have pressed it for you, my onstar rep explained that is a trigger for the survey.

I've gotten about five various surveys.

When the car was about a month old: GM and Chevrolet dealership surveys.

When the car was about two months old: Strategic Vision survey.

When the car was about four months old: The second part of the Strategic Vision survey, and another GM survey. Both just came last week.

There are many reasons why a survey can be delayed, the majority of the time is the dealership either punches (reports it sold and gone) it late or early, which triggers a survey. When a dealership punches the car early, you may get a survey before you ever even deliver the car. Because GM thinks you already have it. Frankly it's a very inaccurate process. But everyone gets the survey if they have punched the car sold. Because every survey goes into the incentive/punishment system that GM has set up to pay money back to the dealer.

If you have received absolutely nothing from GM or the dealership, it's very possible your car is punched to someone else and GM doesn't know who you are. It's worth a call to GM customer relations to see when your warranty started, and if all the information in the computer regarding your address is accurate. Otherwise, you'll never hear about a recall.
This is particularly important if you are buying a dealer demo, dealer employee car etc.

There are several surveys. The only one that really matters is the one that asks you about your sales delivery experience and how you like the salesman etc. etc. That's the one that will, either pay or Doc the dealer money. The rest of them are either by a vendor of GM-strategic vision-or JD power. There is also the "IQS" survey which is from GM but wants to know how you like your car in the first 90 days and what broke.
