rear of the car squatting on to the tires??

I have a 2016 2ss without magnaride on factory springs. I have a set of curva c300 20x9.5 front paired with a 275/35/20 nitto 555g2 and a 20x10.5 paired with a 315/30/20 nitto 555g2 in the rear and my car rubs the outer edge of the rear tires when i hit a dip in the road or pothole, it does not do it often only on bigger holes or dips.

My rear tires are very flush but poke maybe just a couple mm's, barely any, depends on the way you look at the rear of the car.

My question is how can i combat this, my goals were to lower the car since it is on factory springs but if i am already rubbing with factory springs then it would surely be worse once i lower it? unless with the lowering springs having a higher spring rate making it stiffer, then it may work??

any suggestions will be helpful.

I’ve read on the forum that there’s a wiring harness back there that needs to be relocated if you go bigger than 305. That might be what’s rubbing.

Yes 315+ or 305/35 aspect = rubbing on wire harness. Wire harness is located on the driver side rear wheel well

Have to relocate the harness if you use either of those tire specs

He's talking about the outer edge of the rear tires hitting the fender lip... Sounds like your wheels have the wrong offset...

OP you can option for the Camaro flare sides which would allow you to lower it. I browsed past a kit online that allows HUGE tires to be placed on the car upwards of 335 to 345 if I remember right.

That might be an optional way to go if you are dead set on lowering.

Wide body kits: https://www.americanauthority.com/pr...reetfighter-la

Obviously not cheap, but you can buy the kit pieces individually

P.S. I'll see if I can find the link
Flared wheel opening radius's will only work if you cut or clearance the original sheet metal allowing the clearance and then covered by a fender flare.

People have put 335 to 345 rear tires on these cars. Not sure what they did to make it work with flare sides. But whatever they did also allows the car to be lowered.

Just saying its an option, not saying its practical but an option none the less.

How and where do you relocate it too? Does anybody have pictures.
I haven't received my 2023 yet; planning on the upgrade.
Thanks!

You basically move the wire harness to the right to allow clearance for 315's or 35 aspect 305's. Assuming you are on 20" wheels.

Sorry found it: 6:17 Mark

The 1/4 panel wheel openings are cut and the wide body flares are added. You do not see the cut (butchered) 1/4 panels. No other way to prevent the tires and 1/4 panel sheet metal from contact every time the rear suspension compresses.

The 1/4 panels and bumper cover are also damaged to attach the wide body flares. The car is worth less money and not very sellable.

How wide can I have the rear tires before I need to do this wiring harness relocation?
Thanks!
