95 degree track day tomorrow. Any advice?

Doing my first full track day tomorrow. Ive done a good amount of autox and some time trials, but this is my first track day. Its going to be hot as the devil. Any advice for running in the extreme heat?

Hydrate the DAY BEFORE. Continue hydrating the day of. Keep AC on, seat cooling if so equipped.

If temps start creeping up - pull off, spray down front heat exchangers ( radiators ) and go back out if time allows. Take extra water for said sprayer ( lawn-garden section). Take extra t-shirt for the ride home - feels good to put on DRY clothing at end of HOT track day. Shower.. if available.

IF you feel yourself feeling dizzy or having hard time focusing, come in, park in shade if available or AC room.

Agree with above. There is no shame in cutting your session short if you're not feeling 100%.

Tires will grease early, don’t push too hard. Focus On your line and situational awareness. Drink lots of Gatorade like others said.

Have fun and don’t worry about Lap Times. No records are set on hot days.

Well we are having 102-105 degree track days down here and I will mention the following:

Keep careful watch of the air pressure in your tires. I am running AZENIS RT660 for example and I run around 26 PSI cold and with track temps I can see around as much as 36-38PSI Hot. I usually take some air out of the tires to keep pressures down. It is also a good idea to check the torque on your lugnuts at least ONCE during the track day (140 ft lbs).

If you feel your brakes are FADING because of the heat, DO NOT continue on to try and deal with that situation. It is best to simply cut your sessions shorter. Your first few track sessions in the morning and afternoon will typically be faster than those later in the day.

In a typical 30 minute session for example, I may run the first 20 minutes of it.

Keep a careful watch on water temps and engine oil levels.

As others have indicated HYDRATION is the key. Energy drinks, soda, and anything with sugar or caffeine in it ARE NOT good hydrators.

Im running the SC3s so I will probably start pretty low around 27.

A wheel flying off into the sunset has always been my biggest fear so I'm way ahead of you on the lugs!

I just put in new DOT 4 fluid. RBF 600. Kind of wish I had the 660 for tomorrow. I will definitely not push on weary brakes.

Temps will definitely be a focus

Thanks!

Please only torque your wheels once in the morning(when wheels are cool), don't try to torque in the middle of the day.

I dont torque my wheels during the session but I generally just check them at 20% less just to ensure nothing as backed off.
