Oh no I certainly wouldn't. I know a cia might change a few noises but I didn't expect a loud whistle. Lol.

I have another boosted (eaton m90) car, albeit nowhere near the power of the ZL1 and I can hear the sucking when on Part throttle and If I catch the gear just right and let off, i almost get a turbo flutter or blow off valve type feedback. I don't mind it but on the ZL1 I just wanted more pronounced whine.

100% agree. I live with the bypass noise to enjoy the 2x blower scream at WOT and the better (if only slight) throttle response.

Well, the RS3 makes the best intake noises for sure. The intake on that car sounds incredible. The ZL1's exhaust is preferable, though that 5cyl in the RS3 does have a nice and very unique exhaust note...and they're both way better than the Tesla. LOL

After reading the linked post, I still firmly believe those who have this sound have a leak somewhere, whether they know it or not. I'm holding out for that. Lol

No, it is normal for a Rotofab when they first came out. I talked to them about it and they said they changed the seal design so it's not as pronounced on the ones they made in 2018 and up. I don't hear it from inside the car, but it can be heard from a distance. Go to around 15 sec mark and again at 1:55 in the video to hear it on mine.

Why does it seem to matter if the RotoFab has a whistle noise anyway as long as no CELs are thrown. I don’t ever hear mine but on my 2016 2SS I heard it with a Cold Air Inductions unit sometimes over the NPP fuse pulled Track mode exhaust.

Some have it, some don't. Some that did have it, readjusted their connections and it went away. This was taken directly from the link provided in this thread. This is why I believe it might be a leak. Just my take.

Agreed. I have a big gulp sitting in my garage waiting for the LTs to come and if this is the sound it's going to make normally, then I'm sticking with OEM and putting a green filter in it lol.

There's no way in hell I could tolerate that sound on a DD.

Today I loosened all the connections and re-set them. I also turned the filter around a bit so it's more parallel to the ground. Took it out for a 10 mile test drive and it did seem to reduce the noise a bit. It's maybe 30% less noticeable. I would say that if you don't want to hear any vacuum whistle noise, maybe pick a different brand of intake.

Its not the intake making noise, its the sound of the air going through the bypass valve thats INSIDE the supercharger. You are just hearing it now vs before when you had a closed intake.

Why is this so hard to grasp? Furthermore you can change the level of the sound with the gas pedal or completely stop it when you go WOT.

It's hard to grasp because some do not have this sound.

I highly doubt that. There are many levels of people who can and cant hear, or dont care about noises from cars. Your perception of something doesnt make it not true.

Not arguing with you by asking this, but why is that bypass noise not noticeable until one installs a rotofab?
