What is interesting is that for the CT5BW they kept smaller blower.
Also, it seems like the larger blower LT4 in the Escalade isn't getting supplemental port injection like the LT5.

That is interesting. I'm just waiting to see if any of these improvements make it's way into the ZL1 before it's gone forever.

Yep. So GM will do a small run of Escalades with an upgraded LT4 but not a Camaro? Lame if it ends up that way.

I agree, but they spent tons of money on the CT-6 turbo black wing engine and never used it in anything else, so I wouldn't be surprised.

That's right. What a bad precedent they set Although does the Z06 LT6 share anything with the original bw dohc V8?

Since the 2.65 L Escalade blower LT4 only makes 14 more hp than the CT5V BW LT4 and similar torque, I'm guessing they used the larger blower not necessarily for extra power, but for the tow capacity rating. The larger blower will have better intercooling of the charge air for those long WOT runs up hill towing a boat, RV, or whatever else people in $150k Escalades may tow.

Towing at capacity in a truck/SUV may require WOT for several minutes (or more) at a time, and the smaller intercoolers in the 1.74 L Eaton likely don't have the capacity for that to maintain reasonable charge air temps, thus, the larger blower w/ larger intercoolers.

As far as the intercoolers on the LT4: I've long theorized that the intercooling is slightly inadequate in the 1.74 L Eaton supercharger even in a stock LT4 for long WOT runs (>13 or 14 seconds). It works OK on a track because WOT is intermittent so they can keep up with an on boost/off boost duty cycle, as well as at a drag strip where it will be off throttle within about 12 seconds or so, or less.

Obviously, with a 2.65 L blower the LT4 could make quite a bit more power.

Excellent point on the 2650 for the Escalade, they weren't trying to make much more power, but just deliver consistent power 'all the time.'

What a concept. One that would be more than welcome for the ZL1, or any performance car for that matter.

Cadillac Escalade-V expands V-Series lineup;
Delivers 682 hp and 653 lb-ft of torque.

They upped the HP on the Escalade even higher than the CTV5 Blackwing.

The Escalade will likely be around longer than the Camaro. I don't see GM spending any more money on the Camaro because its end of life.

And lost torque with a bigger blower.
