Certainly a cost effective option. However, you don’t get the added port injection that comes with the LT5.

Would be cool but I just can't see it happening. IMO the tell-tale sign Camaro was done was with Al O. leaving Team Camaro for the electric program and IMO GM has their sights narrowly focused on transitioning to all electric vehicles now days as evidenced by the billions invested in that segment of the market. The Camaro is unfortunately being left to be strung along for a whimper of an exit rather than going out with a bang and for us Camaro fans, that is a sad reality.

The Camaro is treated like the red headed step child in GM’s fleet so don’t see it happening.
It would be nice for sure. I would buy one.
However, I believe the LT4 is the best we will ever see in a ZL1 Camaro.

I think limiting the LT5 to just the C7 Corvette ZR1 and a crate motor was
a short-sighted, expensive blunder by GM

C8, ZL1, SS......yeah, none of those appeal to me either. Maybe a Kia Forte GT?

I'm pretty sure new engine/chassis combos have to be recertified on emissions and maybe even crash tested.... GM is not interested in investing that kind of money in a dead platform that is not selling.

I'd love to see it too, but its just not going to happen. We'll get some new wheel/stripe/color options and that's about it.

GT500s seem to be languishing on dealer lots. I see 450+ nationwide right now. Some for below sticker price. I look for ZL1s and see under 200 for 19 to 21 models. I’m weighing buy a ZL1 and getting modification crazy or get something already “there” and keep a warranty. We’ll see how this plays out with the C8 Z06 as well.

IMO a big reason they wont do this is the effect it could have on C8 Corvette excitement, attention and sales. They probably don't want anything taking attention away from this recently launched car, and new versions they're rolling out over the next few years... Z06 being the highlight soon.

A 750 HP LT5 ZL1 1LE would kill the standard C8 lap times and give the C8 Z06 a run for its money--especially if it's true it has 650 HP max.

I'm thinking they will put the LT 5 into the C8.

GM is being headed by a woman and she likes battery powered stuff. Meanwhile, Dodge continues to lead with real muscle power.

I think GM prefers DOHC for the C8. The LT2 was an easy choice for the base model...

The Z06 will be high revving NA DOHC.

An LT5 Grand Sport would have more power than the NA Z06.

I think ZR1 buyers would prefer a more "advanced" motor on their $140k+ hybrid hypercar. Maybe not, an evolution of the LT5 would be effective.

I don’t think there’s enough room to fit a roots supercharger. This is why all the YouTubers have modified their C8s with twin turbos.

I didn't think GM was going to make an LT5-powered Camaro, so I "made" one, like posted above. It doesn't have port, but I have all the power I've ever wanted, and then some. What's nice is PI is coming, and looks promising. Who needs a warranty anyways?...

Comparing the LT4 to LT5, There are other improvements made to the engine aside from a larger supercharger and Port Injection. For starters, the LT5 doesn't have AFM or the DOD internals. That is a Huge plus right there.

I would wager the last year ZL1 with a LT5 engine would sell every unit fast even if it was priced 10k higher. Comparing the 5th gen Z28 is silly at best. That car was a flop because it was a 70k car that still ran 12's. LT5 in the ZL1 would be a 10 second car right out of the gate and wouldn't take nearly as much money as a LT4 to make 1000hp. Enthusiasts will see that potential and snatch them up just like they did the C7 ZR1.

GM honestly continues to disappoint. The LT5 is by far the best LT engine and they could of capitalized on more market share had it been used on other platforms with more then 1 year of production. The CTS-V and ZL1 should of both had it as a option. Even should be a option on a truck or suv. Take a page out of Mopar's book...their stuff is selling.
