Probably right.

Watch this... If any of you think your Camaro, on public roads, handles better than my Scat Pack Widebody, Come to Western Carolina and lead me through a chase. You will not get fancy guardrails protecting you, only giant trees.

I get the Camaro is a fantastic car in the twisties, I do, I owned one. But I am telling you firsthand not on public roads.

With the right compund tires, an SS will pull away from your Widebody scat pack, street or track. A 1LE will overlap you sooner or later depending on how many curves are up for grabs. It is unfortunate you have not had the opportunity to compete against a worthy 6th gen. Your scat is a great straight line performer, comfy and may take a curve with some speed, but that is where the advantages end. Enjoy your illusion though...

You owned the worst handling 6th gen camaro possible: a V8 2SS convertible. Additionally, it was a lemon. Had you had the opportunity to sample a much lighter and much better handling 1SS (hardtop) or 1LE, you would have immediately realized that they were in an entire different handling league. Compare your scat to the camaro you should have bought instead of the camaro you chose to buy.

So, what you're saying is gm (not GM) got a butt load of data and intentionally made a car that no one wanted, then got some more data and figured out why no one wanted it, but decided to do absolutely nothing about it and instead lose money?

Meanwhile, Dodge, who hasn't really changed their models since 2009, somehow went from a third-place car to first place in sales out of sheer luck....

Perhaps gm (not GM) should buy hire a leprechaun and get a rabbit's foot instead of investing in all the data so they can regain sales.

I had seen that article when it came out and SMH...

Maybe the problem is gm (not GM) has PC bean counters and ZERO car people?

Meanwhile, Dodge has hired every car guy on the planet and has dibs on their kids when they enter the work force.

If you guys hate your Camaros so much, go buy a Dodge and get over it. Life is too short to live with bad decisions. All these performance cars will no longer be made in a few short years, then you can bitch about your EV. As far as GM making decisions you don't like, what difference does it make, you still have the car you wanted, enjoy it.

Sorry you’ve missed my years of posts on this.

For the Gen6, GM did NOT clinic the car in a traditional sense.

They went to a group I believe they called The Camaro Faithful and asked them what they wanted. The answer for that small group of people was simply “MORE”. More of what the Gen5 was. And that’s what we got.

If they had asked Mustang customers or other coupe buyers maybe (likely) they would have got a different answer.

The post you are commenting on is simply GM has the data on why this car isn’t selling and it’s likely it’s because it’s more Gen5 but not more great coupe.
