Passed emission with Jannetty's tune headers and no cats

I just finished effectively the 125 hp kit with kooks headers, catless mids and a few other slight changes. Right after finished I get my emissions email, hoping I wouldn't have to get catted mids, or a retune ( sometimes emissions places dont like the CAT state) I headed over.

Passed the OBDII test and good for another 2 years. Very happy

Sounds like you have very loose emissions standards in your state.

I'm in NJ I know that my state after 07 and later cars they only do a OBDII test. Now that being said, I've been thinking a lot about this when its time for me to get my car inspected. The only part I could see myself failing on are. catless mids and having upstream or downstream o2's off. (I forget what ones are off in the tune) Ted also tuned my car so the o2's that he turned off are going to be the same as yours. Now that I'm thinking about it I'll hook up my scanner to run a drive cycle test. If that passes I'll pass inspection. Also I have high flow cats Ill put on before hand and take off after.

Ted if you could chime in on this on if you had a customer fail inspection for anything in one of the emissions cautious states.

I'm in NJ too. The OBD2 emmission inspection tests only the rear/downstream O2 sensor's readiness status. Those are the ones that get turned off in tunes/set to Ready so you don't throw a CEL. You should be good to go as is. Still be interested in hearing Ted's comment.

MD is pretty tight on sniffer but since these cars just need OBD2 its all about the tune and the sensor state. As said before different tunes leave things in diff states and the JTR tune is good enough to pass without resorting to going stock and testing before a cel trips or trying to trick the downstream with extenders or other things to adjust flow rate.

Passing the OBD2 test in Tennessee is no problem with a proper tune. But you would fail the visual test. Because they do look under the car for cats.

They looked under mine and I guess seeing the second 02 sensors in tact they passed on by the pipes. It was a saturday and govt employees, just get cars through and collect the fees.
