Track Pet Peeve

Just wondering if this upsets anyone else on here.

On Test and Tune nights when everyone is allowed to race, I simply hate it when they pit me against a 8-9sec dragster. I think they are extremely dangerous and I just hate the idea of that thing blowing something off the line and going right into me. Secondly, it just makes me not want to try. I love racing cars that I know can beat me, but really I don't like being massacred by full out dragsters that hit 9s 150mph+... Just wondering if this upsets anyone else.

That is one of them. Also breakdowns, and I hate at my track just because I run slicks on my cobalt they make me run modified, which is mostly 8-10sec cars.

I think you have a better chance of someone that doesn't know what their're doing in a street car wiping you out then a full on drag car. It really doesn't bug me at all ,but then again I used to run the full on race cars so I know what to expect.

Here is what you do. You are racing the clock right? Let him go. Your reaction time doesn't mean anything with your ET. Once he is gone then you go.

Check out a different track. The one I frequent only puts like set-ups together and the cars that are 9 seconds or less solo pass. I am sure you could find a better track

Hmmmm never had a problem letting them go solo. Just put your brake on and wait.

They always try to cut the cars too since there like 15 of them waiting. There will be 30-40 cars going and they'll just edge in like they own the place. Pisses a lot of people off.

Well the thing that scares me is, a lot of these cars do break down half way down the track or have a spill (at least 3-4 every time I go out on Fri). Just not what I'm into with my car I guess. They're pros, but there's not much they can do if their tire blows out at 120.

I know what your saying and I can understand your concern ,but over 20 some years of going to the drags, I've seen more mishaps with people that get a lot of power for the first time and don't know how to use it.
