My Single Turbo Build
Just wanted to share my progress in attempting to positively displace my 2019 SS1LE.
Motor is stock for now aiming for 7 psi...after im done fabbing the kit and recouping some spending cash ill get LT4 fueling...then forged internals...then more fuel...then probably a divorce from spending too much time and money on a car. Parts so far: China 78/75 .96ar (flame me I deserve it will upgrade later when funds allow) Custom log style manifold with crossover using Aceraceparts.com SS piping (really awesome American steel simply kills chinese stuff, customer service is excellent) Motionraceworks flanges (these guys obviously rock) Turbosmart compgate (have a china unit but dont trust it so it is a paperweight now) China bov aem boost controller and wideband I use an everlast powertig 185dv welder (always a student continually seeking higher skill level) All kit fab done in my home garage using harbor freight precision machining lol Last edited by wolfdog; 05-17-2021 at 10:35 AM. |

Sweet build, is the turbo in its final position? What are you planning to do for intercooler and how are you routing the exhaust?

intercooler will be a front mount...still looking around at options. exhaust will be a 3" down pipe and I just barely have space to route it around the engine to the back. |

Awesome!!!! Pretty much same thing as mine. It looks like you disconnected the AC line. That's the one big draw back from locating the turbo here.
Post more pics of the manifold and exhaust. If you have any questions feel free to reach out. Ill share what I know and experienced. I hope you bought some bmr motor mounts. They open up the area for piping alot. My kit was made with the factory motor mounts and it is stupid tight with 4 inch dp

A bit of progress...oil feed and return situated for now.
Had to re-tap/die the fitting to M12X1.75 since no one makes that size. No biggie but plug and play would have been nice. |

Return-
I took the factory separator line and chopped it at the lip...then routed the return to it. This way seems pretty effective since it retains the mounting bolt and even reused the insulation. |

wastegate on...waiting on some remflex gasket to hopefully seal my warpy flange...next manifold I make will surely use a purge block during fab but overall pretty happy with how this turned out so far.

Thanks! its not perfect but I learned alot...should do the job for this round of tinkering. I saw your twin build thread...excellent stuff! If life allows I may end up doing twin top mounts next go around. Id like to try my hand at individual runner manifolds.

Looks great!!!! I ended up taking the plug out and tapping the vertical hole of the valley cover and threaded into that for the feed. It kept the oil pressure sensor in the OEM spot.
I also have a pretty good write up about that oil drain. My cold piping goes from the turbo, down around the frame into the IC, out on the pass side and up through the frame/rad/lower coolant hose up into the TB. its tight but works.
