Exhaust Options

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2021 SS 1LE 6spd on order right now and waiting for the factory to start production again. While waiting I'm considering my exhaust options. I really like the way the AWE Track Exhaust sounds and would like to go that route. However, they let me now they're no longer able to produce the link pipes to delete the secondary cats. Should I go ahead and buy link pipes while they're still out there through vendors or is there a quality exhaust company who includes a solution to deleting the secondary cats?

AWE Track is known to drone, be aware of that. I have the touring and its a great sound but the two are different in that way.

I don't believe there's a bolt in solution out there for 2d cats, no one else does it for the same reason AWE got spanked for doing it. If you can find a set for sale, go for it!

I appreciate the information. I think I'd be ok with the drone really looking for something as loud if not louder than my 2018 Scat Pack was with the Borla Atak exhaust.

i use borla atak with the x-pipe but if you like the sound of awe i'd say stick with your gut. i left my cats connected on the headers but everything after is gone.

I think the Borla set up is awesome, especially if you decide to keep the NPP functionality.

I have the borla attak as well and its loud especially on cold start up. Looking to do long tube headers next. All my cats currently in still. May delete secondary when I do headers.

I installed the AWE Track with link pipes about a week ago. The sound is much more deep and aggressive than NPP. The drone isn't too bad, and I've only noticed it in 1st>2nd and under 2500rpm for other gears.

The pops and gurgles are amazing; get them the most when downshifting from 3rd>2nd.

You can mitigate drone by staying out of that ~2K RPM range and/or being in too high of a gear and just downshift one gear. Assuming 6M.

The AWE track is just a muffler delete so understand that, the Touring sounds much better and has drone cancelling tech in it.

If I ever get my Camaro (chip shortage delay) I'm doing a custom exhaust. I've been researching all the different kits out there and the pricing is beyond absurd, which in my eyes, makes them completely undesirable. The AWE track system is a $1200+ muffler delete, don't buy it unless you just like throwing money away. Go the custom route if you want that sound and I'm sure it would be half the cost of AWE
