A10 2nd gear Launch

Has anyone had any luck getting their Zl1 A10 to launch from a dig in 2nd? My previous car was a 600 RWHP 2016 Camaro SS A8 and I could launch it in 2nd in manual mode on the street and it worked perfect stock TCM tune. Now I own a 2018 Zl1 A10 and can't get it to launch in 2nd stock TCM tune. Has anyone had any first hand experience getting their ZL1 to do this? Maybe by modifying the TCM tune? I'm planning a 750 RWHP build and 1st will be useless.

Also, I had the TUTD tables on my previous A8 modified with a "Roll race tune" so I could hold it in 2nd or 3rd manual mode and roll race and the car would upshift automatically without using the paddles or slap the shifter over to drive. Anyone know if this can be done with the 2018 A10 too?

There a YouTube video of the owner of CSP at the track racing his ZL1 just before he sold it.

He explains the steps to launch the car in 2nd gear.

You have to adjust the tutd settings in tcm to be able to do that on a10's.

Can you give us a bit more info here? Can tuners be used to make such adjustments?

Thanks to everyone here.

I've owned this car for 6 months and instinctively want to drive and race it manual mode but 1st and 2nd are of minimal use and leaving it to the stock A10 hasn't been pleasant for me, that is until one makes the TUTD edits shown here.

These changes will make the Auto car quicker and faster - sweet

Does anyone have or can anyone make the images of the TUTD settings for an A10?

It isn't really much different then a A8. You have 2 more gears...use a online gear calculator to figure the rpm and mph you want the shifts to happen at and plug that mph into the TUTD tables for each gear. 1st gear I would set a couple mph lower then your target. Other then that it's pretty straight forward.

Jason Leiva has just started launching his A10 Zl1 over the weekend. He ran 8.67 with 2nd gear wheels up launch. Magnuson 2650 and Vengeance build. Mike Swanson has been launching his A8 in 2nd gear for over a year and he has the fastest Gen6 in the country right now at 8.40, also runs Magnuson 2650.

King seems to have it figured out also on how to set it up.

I just found that my '20 ZL1 has the T93 TCM, which HPT does not support. Wish I had known this before I bought this car.

I went and found this video on Youtube , thanks. I discovered another nugget in it. He talks about a traction management adjustment for first gear allowing him to use full throttle from a launch in 1st with run flats. Anyone know more about what he is modifying to accomplish this?

Yes, a thread here covers this. He's editing the TUTD tables in his TCM (auto trans years 2017-2019, not 2020 or 21) to specify the MPH or RPM for all gears changes. This allows him to burnout, launch and make the whole run in Manual mode, and eliminate rev limiter hits.

He no longer has to launch in manual then push the shift lever to auto to complete the run.

That's not what were referring to here. The TUTD settings are easy. Were talking about full throttle in 1st gear from a dig with run flats. That's what we want to know. If you watch his video, he tells you how to do the 2nd gear launch, but he also said he's NOT got to give away the secret on how to launch WOT on run flats.
