Remember a COPO car is not Street legal and has no VIN number can not be registered.

I think there are some confused people in this thread. The OP "won" the opportunity to purchase the vehicle. Only 69 are made a year and there is a lottery to determine who can purchase.

He didn't "win" a COPO. He was chosen to "buy" a COPO.

With that said. I don't know what I would do in this situation. It would be a cool car to buy and cover and place in a garage and show folks (who can appreciate what it is) every now and then. But it is expensive. I just don't know what I would do.

Yes lots of confusion! He was picked out of the many that applied just for the chance to purchase a factory built Drag car.

I got picked for a 2015 and 2016. Both times I gave the car to my dealership connection to buy so my name is on both cars in the trunk. I just got picked for a 2020 but decided against it. It seems that it is just too hard to get people to buy these cars. 130K is alot of money for a car you cant drive or register

They are pretty expensive, but it's a fair price for what it is. $117,500 base price, then add in all the options. The cost of buying the COPO is reasonable comparing what it would cost to buy a 6th gen and build an 8 second car out of it. But I wouldn't be able to live with myself to buy it and leave it covered in the garage. It would be raced.

Already paid parts deposits (non-refundable) to have my 5th gen worked on: 8.5 certified cage, T400, 9" rear end and all the other goodies. If I wasn't committed to that this would be an easy decision. So I would have to finish that car and try to sell it, I'm only allowed so many toys in the garage.

Common sense and reasonable thoughts say pass, but damn... It's a COPO!
