CEL after cold air intake install

I put on a JLT CAI a few days ago. Took the car out for a cruise this morning and about an hour into the drive I had a CEL. P2270 and P2272, rear O2 sensors reading lean.

I just cleared the codes, they are only emissions codes so whatever.

Pretty sure it’s because of the CAI, just wanted to ask if anyone else had a similar issue.

Did you disconnect the battery when you installed and checked for any leaks?

Didn’t disconnect the battery. There are no leaks, everything is right.

Those are not the codes I have seen which occasionally occur after a CAI install. But since they showed up right after install, disconnecting the battery is a good idea to partially reset some of the established parameters and allow them to reset for the additional airflow.

He is 100% correct! Unplug that neg terminal for 10 minutes....save you the hassle of some dummy threatening your warranty.

Disconnected the battery for about 20 minutes, well see tomorrow or Tuesday if it worked. It's April 14th and snowing in Michigan.... it was 55 degrees yesterday!

I could be wrong! But i believe that Chev dealership can see the code was thrown with a scan but it all doesn't matter anyway if they dont care, they don't check or you don't care because you are tuning anyway. The whole unplugging of the neg terminal thing restarts the cars stock settings so it doesnt detect a difference in air flow...
