AFE headers?

Does anyone on here have any experience with AFE headers? What's the fitment like? Same quality as ARH?

Why not? Both 304 stainless made in America by American companies. Fitment feedback is also great.

Do you say that because ARH doesnt offer a Tri-Y set-up and AFE does?

I mean, it's not like AFE is Stainless Power or Texas Speed(not a bad product, but not made in America).

like ARH they are also American steel which is why I wanted to see other people's opinions. My biggest issue is they only have 1 7/8. They don't offer 2inch. I'm N/a so is it much of a difference?

Not even a little. You have to go really high in power levels to get to the point of 2 inch headers being beneficial.

1 7/8 is recommended for N/A builds, and they fit better too.

Price would be my deciding factor. Both are very high quality, and fit very well. AFE is Tri-Y, which may be the reason for the higher cost, but I do not think that technology is worth the price difference.

If they were the same price, I would go AFE, but I would not pay more for one over the other. There just isnt any meaningful advantage one way or the other, so I would make the choice that saved me the most coin.

You're right.. when I posted I was thinking OBX for some reason.

Interested to find out more about AFE.

Oh gosh, yeah OBX......your post was good advice for sure then.

I started looking in to it more also, for one reason or another(maybe price) they are not extrememely common for the 6th gens. I remember quite a few 5th Gen guys grabbed a set of the Tri-Y's back then and loved the quality and fitment. I remember wanting a set myself, but went with Texas Speed instead and that was purely financially driven, as my build included a cam and supporting mods.

In the end of the day, I think their price is just a little too high. ARH has been around and trusted for so long, hard to be competitive when you price your product above a market leader like that.

OP good luck. I would call around, especially forum supporters like Juiced Motorsports. Great prices, and they give forum discounts if you call. ARH, AFE, Kooks......you stick with those and pick what best fits your budget and build and you will be happy with the results.
