Oh 87 is ok, that’s great news. Canyon AT4 is high on my list if no longer needing a full size.

On the Colorado, you can get three states of tune on the 2.7 (and the lowest output version has some internal differences.

237 hp 259 tq
310 hp 390 tq
310 hp 430 tq

On the Canyon it's only the 310 hp and 430 tq.

I would not throw an aftermarket tune on this guy until after my warranty was already expired, but I wonder how much more (safe?) power can be made on a 91 tune? I thought one company was claiming around 350+hp and nearly 500tq, so hot dang. That may have been a 93 tune. I'd be happy with just a modest bump lol. Say 330 HP and 450 tq. (stock power levels are already pretty great)

I understand, I should have worded my question better.

Does anyone know what output level these ratings are for?

I have read it's the base but not sure it's confirmed.

Also one thing to consider, this truck weights more than the 2nd gen somehow.

That would really be a disappointment. The V6 makes more power and torque for a minor hit in fuel economy.

Many will be disappointed by the MPG efficiency, but won't be disappointed by the power/torque curve/capability at least compared to the outgoing 3.6 which was by far the volume seller.

I also read that it was with the base engine, but I want to disagree with that because I'm fairly certain the EPA numbers are supposed to be for the anticipated volume seller, which would likely be an LT with the mid-level tune.

Who knows.

What I do know is that it's really confusing in this case when you have one engine with three states of tune with one EPA MPG rating. Unless all three engines get the same mileage (doubtful), I don't know why anyone would get the base tune in that case.

The Canyon will have only one state of tune...the H.O. tune. Curious to see how it's MPG will be rated. That said...still can't make an apples to apples comparison with the Colorado because the Canyon also is lifted, widened, and has no air dam. I hope the Canyon is n par with the Colorado, but I'm afraid the EPA rating will be even less.

The power delivery of the 2.7 will be excellent

From what GM has said, the latter two power figures have the same hardware, and a truck that comes with the 390tq can get an OEM flash to 430tq.

The 237hp 259tq version has a smaller turbo. (I assume)

Compared the new 2.7 w/the 3.6, both 4WD. As expected, only a marginal improvement if MPG is the only consideration.

2.7: 21 combined 19/23
3.6: 19 combined, 17/24

Diesel: 22, 19/28
As much as I love the styling and available features, it doesn't make a lot of sense for me to upgrade from my 2018 Canyon SLT.

I REALLY am lusting after the Canyon Denali, but $57k as I have it optioned out.

I'm leaning on waiting for multiple reasons. I would love inventory to improve, see some cash on the hood, and to see/drive this truck in person. My 2018 is still in great shape. Also, my wife is up next i'm told
