Right on. Just out of curiosity were you leaning towards the Edelbrock over Magnuson's 2650 for the ability of port injection? They're both badass blowers and I actually like the look of the Edelbrock more but was just curious since most go Magnuson.

It just depends on the person and what their power goal is.
I run stock pulleys and high ethanol so there’s no additional heat and no additional wear. A 2650 without all the additional mods makes less power than me. You have to have the supporting mods to pull big power from the 2650.

Don’t get me wrong here either….the 2650 is great and I may get one down the road. But I am by no means wasting anything by doing what I’m doing in the mean time. I’m thoroughly enjoying every dollar I’m spending.

I suppose it's as simple as liking the Eaton / Kong combo.

Actually it is wasted. Spent money on porting, (twice) spacer plates, blankets etc.

Could of just sold it from the get go. Not going to Recover the money spent modifying the stock blower. I don’t think anyone is going to Disagree with that.

If you can afford it, going with a 2650 from the getgo is just a smart move. If your tight on cash and don’t have a higher hp goal (ever) then porting and staying stock is understandable.

By the time your done porting abs adding in extras and paying labor (twice) in this case I bet your close to the price of a 2650.

You are quoting me and you clearly aren’t paying attention. I haven’t ported twice, don’t have spacer plates or a blanket. And I will absolutely recover what I spent on porting ($2k). Everyone knows that. I do my own labor so my cost is $0.
And I don’t have a higher hp goal than porting at this time as I road course track my car. If that changes, I’ll buy a 2650 and I won’t have any regrets.

Talking about JSH not you. I Quoted you because you said “ Supporting mods for the 1.7L also apply to the 2650. Money spent on supporting mods do not get subtracted from the cost of the 2650. It’s $2k for 1.7L porting vs $7k for 2650. And the ported 1.7L can be sold for $2k. It does not equal money wasted.”

And my response was 100% accurate. Many people have ported twice, paid labor twice, installed spacer plates, blankets etc. re-tuned twice or even more.

By the time your done it’s now we’ll over $3000 maybe $4000 you’ve just spent on the 1.7. So yes selling it for $2k you’ve just wasted 2k that could of went right towards a 2650.

I’m paying 100% attention and I know how math works as well as what people have paid to mess with their 1.7 multiple times.

I’ve spent $2k modding my 1.7L one time.

And others have spent double that. Get the point now?

2-4k towards a 2650.

I already told you, you can sell a stock 1.7L blower for $2k. So if you sell a ported one for $2k, you just threw away $2k because the value of the blower didn't increase at all, where as if you had sold the blower stock for $2k, it would be all profit.

Your point is incorrect. I don’t want or need a 2650 at this time. If I want one later I’ll recover my $2k and then some.

I read what you said and I disagree. I didn’t throw anything away. I’ll get to use this ported blower for as long as I want and I could easily sell it for more than $2k.

I have. Kong did the regular port on mine first only because my shop and I didn't know about the LT4X. We sent it back for just the incremental cost of the X. No biggie. It runs really good.

If anyone isn’t reading now it’s you.

People is plural. More than 1.

Just because you only spent 2k doesn’t mean others did.

AKA topic of the OP’s statement. I’ve just corrected you saying that all money spent on porting blower you’ll get back. Which for some reason you can’t comprehend.

I have this fear that six months after I buy the 2650, I'll order a ProCharger P-1SC-1
