Lt5 ported TB throwing code

I recently purchased a pray ported lt5 TB from a forum member. I knew it would require a tune but I had read several members that ran a ported TB for a while before getting their tune without issue. When I installed though I got the p2101 reduced engine power, which immediately cleared up after putting the stock TB back on. My question is has anyone else ran into this issue just because the ecu isn’t happy until tuned or was I sent a defective part? I think the posts I read were from ported 87mm TB, this is obviously larger since it started life as a 95mm. Thanks for your help.

Your intake must be ported so the throttle body can open up all the way.

You can also buy an adapter that will allow it the clearance to open all the way.

I've heard ported 87s and stock 95s can be run on the stock tune from what I hear, but I've never heard the ported 95 being 100% ok without a tune, this would be news to me.

The adaptor won’t allow it to open, it only adapts the bolt pattern. The intake or blower snout must be ported to accommodate a 95mm TB.

The 95mm TB (ported or not) willl require a tune to take advantage of it. The LT5 TB uses a significantly difference scalar (throttle response from the ECU) than the stock 87mm
