I'm more than fine with it. I don't think we'll see a change until the 6th gen hits the scene. These are good times!

I will confess I was one of those guys that said the gt500 vs a camaro was not a fair fight and I said if gm put a blower on a camaro that it will walk the 500.but right now that's not the case.but if gm says 580hp is all the zl1 needs it is what it is

The next platform (as previewed on the new Cadillac ATS) will shave a lot of weight so the times will get quicker even if the power #'s stay the same.

I believe the Cadillac ATS is a front wheel drive platform. Hopefully the Camaro won't go there.

The next platform will lose weight and I think all of the engines from LS to ZL1 (Maybe a Z28) will see some changes.

I hope they concentrate on the interior, some better seats and redo to make it look more like the Supercar it is. I think Carbon Fibre ground effects would look nice on certain colors maybe all. Then drop a little weight, change the pulley belt and a tune and you have maybe a 650HP MONSTER!!!!!

I hope GM decides to make a stage 2 and 3 available. The Camaro Nation would celebrate a demonstration of this magnitude!

I don't want to see the 5th gen end with the Mustang on top (power/straight line wise) so I hope the 2014 goes out with a blast.

The ZL1 begs for a stage 2 upgrade. Moving the nearly 4,200 lb car from a standing start is a challenge. At speed with momentum it's quite a different story. The chasis and body with such a sound, almost magical MR suspension is so well equiped to handle much much more power. Taking it through it's paces it's almost surealistic. However, one can readily feel the need for additional power at certain points. The LSA is underpowered and is a fine candidate for a factory upgrade. Bring it on Chevy, one can of stage two whoopass please.

I would've been happy with the ZL1 if its competition didn't have 82 hp more than it, in addition to weighing less and demonstrating a marked difference in acceleration.
IMO the zl1 needs to get closer in the competition with the gt500.

I think the '14 will get a slight bump in power to 600. I also think with the next platform being a lot lighter than the current I don't believe gm will give it more power but a means to control it better. Realistically gm loses this round, not by a lot but enough to warrant victory to ford. I think the power at some point will stop rising and weight will become the deciding factor. I'd hate to see these cars having 7 and 800 hp but weigh in at 5k pounds. A 34-3500 lb 600 hp car would be magic.
