I looked, can't find it. Must be really small (fluke) numbers that are isolated incidents.

Probably not even close to the numbers that are affected by cracked toe links on the camaros.

We all know cracked toe links are soooo much more serious than cracked connecting rods

I'm sure the cracked toe links are of no serious threat, probably more cosmetic than anything. But you're playing up what is likely an isolated incident with the GT350, while the broken toe links are actually a documented issue.

I can't copy link, but go to mustang6g forum, select Shelby gt350 and search forum for connecting rod. Several threads appear

I stopped by to look at a local 2SS convertible just to see it in person and the sales guy wasn't totally clueless but wasn't real bright either. There were some C7 vette's sitting beside the Camaro and he brought up the Z06 and I mentioned that the ZL1 is coming out and he was clueless. He did say the convertible top would retract when moving up to 45 MPH which I know is wrong but who cares.

I do agree that Chevy doesn't really advertise these cars which is bad for sales figures but like others have said, when I buy one next year I don't want to see bunches of them on the road, I like the idea of driving something fairly unique. So far, other than a few sitting at the dealership I've see exactly two on the road, one was a NGM SS and the other was a HBM V6 sitting in a stall at Sonic.

chevy and gm dealer sales people are not the only brand that are clueless when it comes to product knowledge.

Feels strange when the customer has more knowledge than a sales .

Nah....I've always known more than the sales person, no matter what make/model I was looking to buy.

Face it, Car sales is a crap job unless you approach it as a professional. The turnover is so high it's a wonder they know anything at all about the cars they sell. YOU need to be the smart guy here.
Forget the sales guy...He's just a conduit to making the eventual deal.

I've even taken in tips learned here to my service writer (Oil Pan recall) that they were most appreciative of...

Depends on the dealer here, there are a cpl Chevy dealerships here with only 2-4 2016 Cameros and mainly trucks in inventory. There is another Chevy dealer that keeps 25-30 2016 camaros in inventory and the sales people are well educated on them.

3-4k is invoice vs MSRP actually. GM cost would shock you Let's just say that they make a decent money on each vehicle by just selling it to the dealership (especially when you add the amount of vehicles sold).

I wouldn't buy from a salesman that wasn't knowledgeable about their product. It makes me mad when I'm at a dealership and I here salesman lie or misrepresent the car they are selling.

In an age of internet and price shoppers, are you really willing to pay extra in order to be serviced by a knowledgeable salesman?
