Thanks xx_ED_xx! Just helped me figure out that it could have been the dealer while installing the illumination package. But why would they have to remove the hood to install this option?

Wait....is it me or does it seem like they sprayed the hood while it was ON THE CAR?!?
If you look under the washer, there is no paint so that leaves me to believe that they sprayed the hood while still attached to the car. Who the hell does that?

I think it is from the socket rubbing on the paint, not being sprayed while on car

NUTS

The nuts on my hood hinges had been removed also, and because one of the hood stripes looked like a buffer had been used on it I told the "HEAD" salesman. He looked it over and I don't think anything has been done to the hood, someone just took the nut off ! Well how often does that happen I said.

It has been done that way on all of the 5th gen Camaros.
The metal body pieces are assembled, then painted as a unit.

Check out the Ultimate Factories episode National Geographics Channel did on the Camaro plant in Oshawa.

There was no bitching in my original post. I was just asking if there was a way to find out why it may have been pulled because I had a dealer friend and a body shop friend say that was odd and i should research further. Was more so just looking to find out what might have been the reason. Love the car and honestly its under the hood so touched up bolts dont bug me all that much and it can be fixed to look better than it does.

can't wait to see what happens once someone gets their first door ding!!! OMG....STOP THE PRESS The Mayan's Have Returned And Opened Their Spaceship into my ZL1!!!! DO I CALL DEALER, START INTERNET THREAD, OR CALL CHEVY CUSTOMER SERVICE IN INDIA!?!?!? THE WORLD IS ENDING!!!!!

Some paint, missing on a bolt, under the hood? Seriously guys. Like someone said, this is a 60K Camaro, not a Bugatti. It's a mass produced car that had some QC issues. I thought real men drove these cars? Would a real man get all anal about a lug nut with some missing paint that's not even visible?

your car shouldn't look like that brand new, that is purely POOR quality from GM. hands down nothing else to it. for the premium camaro at 55k+ there should not be a single scratch on it, much less marks that look like someone let their child loose with a wrench under the ZL1 hood. that's unacceptable by all measures. i'm amazed they let these go like that. if i built a zl1 or had a hand in this i would not be proud of final products being damaged. yes damaged
