Eliminating the gas guzzler tax would be a good reason to hold all the cars back I guess..... For those that have to pay it....

I am pretty sure that is wishfull thinking. HP increase or milage update would be nice in any scenario but I would be shocked if those rumors were true.

I am not expecting it I ordered it the way it was. To hold up orders to add something that people are not expecting would seem odd to me.

I agree that a HP bump is very unlikely. It seems to me that already gave it the most USABLE HP they felt they could. I also don't think they would have started building the few hundred cars already if they were going to modify the MPG. I do feel everyone's pain on this, I know how it feels after waiting over a year for the 2010 SS I had.

The thing I'm waiting to find out is how long it will be until we find out some info for the next model year. I'm also eagerly awaiting the press to get ahold of the 2013 GT500 to see if they can actually get that extra 70HP to the ground. I plan to get a ZL1 next year and hope they don't have to do much catching up to the Shelby as far as 1/4 mile times.

Getting back to the topic - at what point would you pull the plug on a '12 and go with a '13 or something else, and why? My ZL1 is already built but I'll be out of the country for most of April so if I get my car at the end of April or in May, I'm not sure it's worth to get a '12MY at MSRP... It's almost ridiculous to have the car this late in the MY

I've been thinking about this a lot over the last couple of days and have decided that if we do not have a definitive answer from GM on what the problem is and when it will be resolved by the end of March, I will cancel my order and get my deposit back. I'll then wait to see what transpires when the cars are on the road. Unfortunately, this reminds me of when the Z06 was introduced in 2001. I decided to wait until 2002 to make sure there weren't any issues with a brand new model and was glad that I did as my car was perfect and got an extra 20 hp over the 2001's. The 2001's had oil consumption issues and their values took a hit.

I would also like to see the specs of the '13MY to make sure we're not paying the same money for less car if we go with the '12. I'm pretty sure they'll make some enhancements (power, recaros, etc) in light of the competirion witht the 13 shelby

They won't be bumping the power for 2013, the convertible specs are already out. same HP.
