Would be nice if this affects the 2023 Z06 orders and allows me to pick one up. With the market down and gas prices going up maybe enough people will cancel, right now I'm year 2 or 3.

If people are dumping V8s because of the price of gas and running out of toilet paper...they need to change politicians... not cars.

People continue to buy huge pickup trucks and SUV's (and not actually utilize them) that get horrid mileage... Why not a sports car?

Especially for a fun car, if you plan to drop $40K+ on a 'toy' and can't afford to put gas in the thing (and gas going from $3/gal to $4.50 completely breaks the bank), you can't afford the car.

I'm old enough to remember people dumping their gas-hungry SUV's and trucks around 2008-2009 because gas prices were nuts. But these jamokes lost more equity on their trade-in that they would have spent on higher gas prices!

Agreed, like buying a house, you need to be able to afford the property taxes and insurance as well or you can't afford it.

and pay it off easily. who wants a huge debt once over 50?
live within your means is the key to living a good life. never stretch yourself with loans.
imho any luxery item or toy has to be paid full in cash..no way on this earth would i loan money for cars like ours.,

Hybrids and EVs are more popular and affordable than they were in 2008. Makes the gas bill of the big vehicles hurt less.

I bought my V8 in Nov 2020, knowing full well gas prices were going to skyrocket with the incoming changes. I planned for it, to be frank it took a bit longer than I expected for gas to hit $4 again.

You got that right....
Your so old!!
I was pumping gas in 1974...During the original "gas crisis".
I started driving at 32 cents a gallon. High test was 95 octane.
During the gas shortage with the giant lines at the pumps. I stood there putting $2 in each car from open to close. And it was my job to put the "LAST CAR" cone out and stand with it. People were giving me $5 to move the cone so they could wait an hour to get $2 of gas.
I would take a different family car to work on different days and keep them full.
Always winners and losers.

And Ironically enough a new study just put out says its the past use of leaded gasoline that retarded about 1/2 the US populations IQ.... coincidence ??

Around the 08, 09 time period the CEO of AutoNation stated that when gas was expensive they could sell every Prius they could get for 2 to 3K above MSRP for a new one. When gas was cheap Prius' would accumulate, unsold to the point that all but low mileage cars were sent to auction.

Supply and demand for the short-sighted.

In the mid to late 70's, we were told that oil was running out so they dropped the national speed limit to 55mph. Somehow, a few years later, I guess enough dinosaurs died to give us oil again. Speed limits soared to 75mph and gas was super cheap. Somehow, depending on who finances the winning presidential candidate, we are either out of oil or have too much.
The cycle continues. Now we are out of oil again after having too much of it just a year ago. We are being told to buy electric cars that are fueled by batteries. Those magical batteries don't create electricity. Burning fossil fuels puts the juice into them. The only difference is...the fossil fuels that power those batteries aren't being produced here but in China.
Those batteries are made from cobalt. Ever seen a cobalt mine? Not so great on the environment.
