Order or buy
Went to the car lot yesterday. They have a Camaro with everything I want every option but mrc. Should I pull the trigger on the car on the lot or order one. 6-8 weeks seems long time to wait and I'm worried about cost of repair in the future on mrc. As i plan on keeping the car for a very long time. But also worried I'll regret it if I don't get the mrc

Get exactly what you want either searching other dealerships or ordering it. Yes, there will be a wait BUT it's all worth it!
As for the cost of rebuilding the MRC. Warranty/extended warranty ftw! |

If you can say right now you'll regret not having MRC, then you need to find another prebuilt one you like or order it..
You'll find it very tough and expensive (or not possible - the more likely answer) to put MRC on it later.. |

I would wait, MRC is amazing! I myself would rather be happier with exactly what I want, instead of settling for something that I know I will regret later on. MRC is reliable, and like TR6 said, that what the warranty is for. Extended warranties can be had for dirt cheap, I bought a 6 year 72K for around $1100.

Something like MRC which would be hard to install aftermarket, I'd wait for one or order it.

I have a co-worker that previously worked at Delphi developing and testing MRC for GM. That was a previous revision but they would test the MRC kits past 100k miles without issues. Of course you have early mortality on some units, but they are built to last. They have been putting them in other cars and trucks for years, so I wouldn't be to worried about it.

I haven't had a chance to drive test the MRC, but the stock SS suspension is amazing without it. as many have mentioned, MRC is more of a comfort feature than performance, so what is your goal? comfort or performance? beacause you can always go aftermarket and build something better than MRC, without the concern of paying a lot on MRC repairs in the future, which I cant imagine being cheap.
and as for waiting, just do it. its worth the wait to order a car that was specifically built for you and nobody else, with all the features that you want.

You can search on Cars.com for 2016 Camaros nationwide if you want...what you can do is configure your car on chevy website..., get the exact sticker price....search cars.com...then narrow down by that exact price....see if anyone close to you has what you want in stock...Chevy dealer search is limited to a certain radius around the zipcode you enter..PITA if you want to search a larger area...

Motor Trend liked the standard SS supension over the MRC. Drive both before making your decision..

The car on the lot would be exactly what i would order minus the mrc. I've only driven 2ss with mrc so I really can't compare with out. I plan on driving the car as much as possible but not going to be my daily. I've looked on cars.com and have seen a few but rather far away.

The 2016 Camaro order bank will close pretty soon, something to think about.
I think Cadillac started the Mag Ride Suspension, on the other hand Ferrari has used it in its various iterations for years. The reason to order is to get exactly what you want. At this point in the model year the roller coaster ride is predictable, rarely has long periods of nothing happening and as a result is much more enjoyable as a life experience then pre-ordering or ordering early in the model year can be. Thought Ferrari licensed it from Delphi who developed it with GM.
